Two L’Wren Scott devotees were spotted wearing the same emerald-green dress from the designer’s Fall 2012 collection mere months apart.
Penelope Cruz was first to wear this green dress with gold embellishments when she made a guest appearance on the ‘Late Night with Jimmy Fallon’ show in New York City back in June.
The actress paired the look with a classic pair of nude platform heels and left her voluminous locks down.
Her feminine figure fits the classic wrap dress to a tee and she looks stunning, as per usual.
However, does she beat L’Wren Scott’s biggest fan, Ellen Barkin?
Ellen Barkin wore the same dress on Saturday for ‘Comedy Central Roast of Roseanne Barr’ at the Hollywood Palladium in LA. She styled the long-sleeved dress with an interesting choice of purple croc pumps, a pink lip colour and a slicked back French roll ’do for a very elegant red-carpet look.
While both stars do the designer justice in this L’Wren Scott design, I’m partial to go with Penelope on this one.
She wears a near-identical look to the runway version, and keeps the bow at the waistline.

I love evening dresses in emerald-green. I think they both look beautiful in their gown, but in terms of presentation, Ellen Barkin is definitely my favourite!
penelope wins it for me by a long shot, she looks sexy yet classy. ellen looks like she belongs on dynasty in the dress.
Penelope wins this for me.
+1
My vote’s on the model. Both the others are wearing the skirt too tight through the hip area, not very flattering. Up a half size – then you’d have some sexy!
+1
Both are wearing the dress well but I voted Ellen because you get to see the shoulder details and I prefer not to see the belt hanging in the front.
Ellen looks regal and I didn’t like Penelope’s shoes. Why didn’t they ladies wear strappy sandals?
I prefer a random pop of color to Penelope’s hooves, so Ellen wins for me.
That is not a pretty dress.
This is a no-brainer, Ellen wins based on the fact that her dress is ironed and Penelope’s is not.
I like neither’s shoe choice. Both look lovely in the dress, but Penelope kept it closer to the original (which I loved) so she wins for me!
