There are a few things which are pretty much certain in fashion – Victoria Beckham will always wear a piece from her collection, Eva Longoria will wear Brian Atwood shoes, Anna Wintour will wear her cream Manolo Blahnik heels and Ellen Barkin will always wear a L’Wren Scott dress.
That was certainly true when the actress hit the red carpet on Friday evening at the Hollywood Palladium in Hollywood, California, for the Comedy Central Roast of Roseanne Barr.
Dressed in a green dress from L’Wren Scott’s Fall 2012 collection, Ellen jersey dress with gold embroidered details on the waist and shoulders, was paired with purple croc pumps.
I don’t know about you, but I prefer the longer version on the runway.
Other than that, this is another great look for Ellen. No wonder L’Wren Scott continue to be her go-to designers.
A chic French roll and a pink lip colour completed her look.
You may remember that Penelope Cruz – another L’Wren Scott devotee – wore this dress last month on Jimmy Fallon.

I really don’t like this. The dress is okay–nothing special in my opinion. Her hair and makeup are terrible. She looks like she is about 80.

The dress on the runway is beautiful, and the dress on her is beautiful, but they feel totally different. I think she looks very nice and elegant but I prefer the runway length.
I am actually not a big fan of the dress to begin with.

Much prefer the runway version with the sash, more floaty skirt and gold sandals. Agree with Rebecca Z, she looks really old with that hair and makeup.
Yep, that’s bothering me: the runway version looks more floaty and sexy, while Ellen’s is too stiff. This creates that strange shape near the hem, which reminds me of some of my grandmother dresses.
much prefer the hemline on the runway. Bust and hemline together make me think this is my grandma and Ellen is much better than that.
