Beauty Trend Spotting: Blue Nails

Feeling blue?

If it’s on your nails then you are right in step with some of the hottest Hollywood ladies.

Blue nails were one of the top trends to go down the Fall 2012 runway seen at Erdem and Oscar de la Renta.

Celebs have already embraced it with various shades of cerulean hitting the red carpet all summer long.

From Marion Cotillard’s pale blue on both fingers and toes at ‘The Dark Knight Rises’ New York premiere to robin’s egg on both Taylor Swift at the ‘Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards’ and Emma Stone at the ‘Met Gala’, to slate blue on Ginnifer Goodwin at the ‘Critics Choice Awards’, these ladies aren’t afraid to be bold in their nail colour choices.

If you’re feeling a little unsure of the blues or it’s simply not workplace appropriate, try it on your next pedicure.

Toes are an easy place to switch it up and embrace a trendy colour. A pale shade will complement your summer tan while a deep shade will really stand out against pale skin. All of them will look smashing with the sandals of summer and transition well into fall.

Are you ready to try this blue look?

Grab a glorious azure shade like Koliary from this season’s most talked about nail collab, Thakoon for NARS, or Sally Hansen’s Complete Salon Manicure in Calypso Blue. OPI’s ‘I Don’t Give a Rotterdam’, seen on Ginnifer, gives a muted, moody look, or go deep with Nails Inc Belgrave Place. If it’s pale you want, look for the upcoming, and highly anticipated Skyline from Chanel as well as Essie’s Barbados Blue for icy but hot digits.

I have been embracing this trend for awhile now.. I love a really deep navy. So chic
And I can’t imagine blue nail polish not being ‘workplace appropriate’. That just sounds crazy!

I have dark blue nail polish on my toenails and I have a metallic light blue nail polish. This trend is awesome.

was mid-deep blue sparkly one that looked like a 1970s dodgem fairground car :)

and a bit inspired by a very old (early 70s) blue sparkly car (automobile) which I saw a nun driving once
