Zooey Deschanel joined Lea Michele on the red carpet for the FOX All-Star Party in West Hollywood, California yesterday evening.
The ‘New Girl’ actress wore a signature fit-and-flare dress from Paule Ka’s Fall 2012 collection.
Black pumps were paired with her metallic gold jacquard sleeveless cocktail dress with bow detail.
Even though I wish she shoe choice was more interesting, I’ll take black pumps over tights in July.
For one reason or another I’m always giving Zooey a pass.
On this occasion her quirky touch is her two-tone nail polish.

I agree. I love Zooey but she should take some notes from Michelle Williams on how to keep true to a vintage-inspired look without being boring.
I agree – she has a formula that she always, always sticks to. The exact same hair & makeup, with the same silhouette dress & the same dull shoes, and always with pretty much the same pose. I find it boring & ageing frankly. Her 2 moschino dresses (the red black & white and hte ruffled black & white) as well as her pink emmys gown are examples of how good she can look.

Neither like it or dislike it but I can also give it a pass. She can get away with the black pumps on this occassion as the dress itself is quite heavy. She needs to come up with a better eye makeup.

She’s just so darn cute that it’s hard to dislike anything she wears. The suede pumps are way too heavy but the dress is cute.
Zooey is so darned cute that it’s hard to criticize her, but I wish she’d dress her age a little more. The designs – and shoes – she picks look good on her but make her appear older than she is. Let that quirky side out more, Zooey!
