Demi Lovato was the host of the 2012 Teen Choice Awards on Sunday in Universal City, California.
Before getting to work, the singer rocked a Falguni & Shane Peacock Spring 2012 geometric embellished mini dress with a feathered hem and leather cap sleeves on the red carpet.
The biggest surprise here is that she’s not wearing Topshop nor the leather harness as presented on the runway.
Her edgy feathered confection was styled with Loree Rodkin statement jewels and black Christian Louboutin ‘Exagona’ criss-cross platform peep-toe sandals.
A high, sleek ponytail accented with black leather, smouldering kohl-rimmed eyes, black nails, and a natural pink lip colour competed her look.
This is a much improved look for Demi. Methinks her ‘X Factor’ stylist and event stylist are two different people.
If you are having a case of déjà vu, that’s because Selita Ebanks wore the gown version of this dress to the 2012 BET Awards earlier this month.

While the dress is a vast improvement over her previous red carpet outings, I can’t see past the ridiculous hair style. It looks like she wrapped black electrical tape to create the ponytail, WHAT WAS SHE THINKING?

I really love that look, the dress is amazing, but I think I would have used mustard pumps or peep-toes instead of black.
Ugh. What the heck was she thinking? She’s hardly the type of girl who could pull off a look like this. And even if she was, it’s better suited to an avant garde fashion editorial. Her hair is…eh. I can’t exactly pinpoint much of an issue with it, but I still don’t like it. Only good part of this outfit is probably her shoes.
I hate her hair and the shoes and the dress isn’t doing her any favours. It rather makes her look boxy.

I think that’s an extremely malicious comment, she is recovering from an eating disorder and her body is fine. JUst because she is not the skinny hollywood stereotype does not mean her body looks awful.
I like this. It reminds of Fergie, and that’s bad, but she pulls it off. I also think she works with different stylists for X Factor. I believe Simone Harouche was styling her for some events, don’t know if that’s still the case.
