Yesterday actress Fan Bingbing attended the Louis Vuitton New Flagship Store opening in Shanghai, China.
Bingbing was appropriately decked out in Louis Vuitton, wearing a dress from the Spring 2012 collection and carrying a Vuitton Speedy bag. I loved this dress when it came down the runway and think that it works perfectly here in the more muted tones.
While this piece is certainly not for everyday use, it is perfect for a red carpet appearance, and is accented by Fan’s girly, braided hairstyle and simple makeup.
The gorgeous green color of her Alma bag provides a nice contrast to the pale colors of the dress and nude Christian Louboutin ‘Lady Daf’ heels.
We’re happy to see this fairy-like Louis Vuitton piece off the runway and on the red carpet. But what about you? Do you like Fan Bingbing’s playful outfit choice?

My first thought was that the bag doesn’t go with the fairy-like dress at all.
My second thought was that instead of ditching the bag, she should get rid of the dress!
Love the dress, but those shoes need to disappear from this world once and for all.
I do love the outfit – and her in it! – but I also think it’s overwhelming her petite frame. A bit of tailoring would have made all the difference.

I totally agree Magdalena. The dress is actually designed to be bigger than the wearer, but I agree with everything else you say- that the shoes and bag don’t work AT ALL and that just because it’s Fan Bing Bing doesn’t mean she gets a pass.
FC liked it and first comment said “perfection”. Well, really? sure? Then i must be sick or something because for me its ugly ugly ugly (ugly dress, ugly shoes, ugly use for a nice bag). Now i’m relieved i’m not the only one who dislikes it.

The dress looks like a fairy tale- but the fit is off, on Fan! And too many shades of green going on. I wish she had chosen a coral bag with the dress. it would have been perfect for a playful summery look.

I must be harsh and say it’s an ugly dress both on the runway and off. That clashing green bag and the unattractive shoes Fan is wearing makes it worse, though.
The only thing I’m liking here is the pale green colour on the dress and the bold green on the bag.
The dress is awful and the fit is terrible: it makes her look like three times wider than she actually is.
The shoes I won’t even comment on, I’m loosing hope that they’ll ever go away.

Fashion analysis is always a very subjective thing. And this is maybe the clearest example: How is it possible to say that Bingbing was “appropriately decked out in Louis Vuitton”, when it is more than obvious that she looks terrible on it? Without mentioning the horrible pair of shoes and that bag which has nothing to do with the outfit… so I really do not understand…
