Yesterday, Freida Pinto hosted theFlaunt Magazine and Agave Denim ‘All Wraped Up In Blue’ dinner at Sherbourne in Los Angeles.
The stunning actress wore a Contrarion New York top and A-line skirt, topped off with a pair of black Christian Louboutin pumps.
It’s always hard to find fault with someone as stunning as Pinto, but this ensemble isn’t doing her justice.
The gorgeous red tone of her Contrarion skirt is played down by the black and white top, and the two components of the look fail to achieve any kind of harmony. The bow on her top only makes the rest of the outfit appear costume-y and thus, her gorgeous, classic shoes are lost in translation.
The one good thing I can say about this look is that Pinto left the jewelry at home — with two strong competing colours, it would have been distracting to throw adornments into the mix.
If Pinto did want to do red and black, a top sans bow would have been preferable, and I would have liked to see a more feminine cut with some shoulder details to add a little intrigue into the mix.
Do you agree? Or are you a fan of Freida Pinto’s look?

Awful look. It’s even hard to believe this is the same woman who donated so many incredible looks during the Cannes Festival. Has she gone back to her old stylist(or lack thereof)?
I like it.
i dont like it at all…great missmatch!
I think it is kind of cute, but you raise a lot of good points, Jessica. I love the skirt and I love the top. I think she pulls them off together because of her hair and makeup, but it isn’t exactly a marriage made in heaven.
It’s a budget Christmas card look. Terrible.
She looks like she should be serving drinks in Hooters.
OMG…this made me LOL
Not my favourite look of hers, but I don’t hate it, either. It’s OK for me.
I like both pieces but definitely NOT together. The skirt is amazing.
LOVE IT! She is so chic. Love the pop of red with the black and white….
A child’s dream come true. She’s dressed like Minnie Mouse!!!
This outfit is so costumey!! Wonder what Frieda had been thinking!!
Unlike Anne Hathaway who can pull off any detailing at the neckline with her long neck, Freida should try to stay away from any restrictive elements around her neck area and opt for more neck-elongating necklines. I don’t like this look.
Very dull and not cute.
Honsestly i feel like she can pull anything off
When I saw it I did think it was a costume so yeah, not working. I really love the skirt but the top isn’t working here.
