Ulyana Sergeenko In Ulyana Sergeenko Couture – Jean-Paul Gaultier Fall 2012 Couture Fashion Show

Ulyana Sergeenko showed her Fall 2012 Couture collection for the first time during Paris Fashion Week on Tuesday and by Wednesday afternoon she was already wearing a look from the collection.

Proving that there is no better brand ambassador for her collection than herself, much like Victoria Beckham, the Russian designer selected the jewel in the crown: the black-lace, lightly embellished gown.

She wore the look to the Jean-Paul Gaultier Fall 2012 Couture presentation yesterday afternoon; styling the look with a black veil and cream ankle boots.

Her hair was styled into tight pinned-up curls, just like the model from her presentation, plus she added a neon-pink lip colour which matched her nails for a pop of colour.

Do you like this chic look or did she take it too far with the veil?

definetely prefer it on the model, if she had a nude lining on the top it would have been nice. but it seems a little much for attending a fashion show.

I think her styling makes it look way too much like a costume. I think had she not worn the veil and maybe worn sandals instead of those booties that this could have been an interesting, stylish look. As it stands, she looks like an extra for a Day of the Dead recreational theater show.

I don’t like the veil with the gown and I think it’s too dressy for a fashion show. I think the gown looks gorgeous on the runway.

I love the runway version but I do not like Ulyana’s one bit.
Hate the shoes. Hate the way she ruined the beautiful lines by unbuttoning the top into a v-shape. Hate the veil.
I really, really want to see this on the red carpet with decent styling.

Honestly, the shoes bother me the most.
I kind of love the rest of the look – veil included.

She looks like a Couture black widow. I love that.
I just wish she has some elaborate black laced/ribbon/spiked pointy pumps instead of that.

Her style is never my cup of tea. She looks like a young, modern version of Miss Havisham from Great Expectations.

The runway version is to die from, absolutely gorgeous!! I like this on Ulyana but the veil does not add anything to the look, I think I would have liked it better without.

I don’t love it. IF the skirt was lined, I would love the dress–with the top buttoned up as on the runway. Ulyana’s unbuttoning ruins the line. The veil is just silly. The shoes are puzzling.

Who says veil is OTT for couture events!! I think people like Anna Piaggi or Isabella Blow brought so much drama and fun to the front rows of couture shows in the 90′s, I guess for a flambuoyant Jean Paul Gaultier’s Show it’s perfectly fine to wear something dramtatic..I think it’s kind of cool for fashion people to show how crazy they can get for fashion! Anna Dello Russo must be happy to see some company!;)
