Rose Byrne For Flare August 2012

Rose Byrne looks beautiful wearing a red Marchesa dress with an Aurélie Bidermann cuff for the August cover of Flare magazine.

This is the same dress Jennifer Lawrence wore to the ‘The Hunger Games’ Berlin premiere back in March.

The rest of Rose’s editorial sees her wearing a purple Lanvin ensemble and a peach lurex Balenciaga top. I can see her wearing all three looks on the red carpet.

Rose talks to Flare about her red-carpet rulebook, her casual closet, working with the late Heath Ledger and why her star-making role in Bridesmaids left her terrified.
Here are some extracts:

On comedy vs. drama: “It’s definitely more challenging for me to do comedy. I’m not as used to doing comedy, the stakes are higher. But it’s so addictive, to make people laugh.”

On ruling the red carpet: “I think for the red carpet in general it’s important to keep it youthful. A lot of people can look very dressed up and old and severe. That’s sort of my worst fear, is erring on that side.”

On her off-duty style: “I go through phases, but I mostly dress in high street clothing, like Urban Outfitters. Every day, really. My [best recent purchase was my] Zara boots…they get so many compliments. They’re great walking shoes, perfect for the city.”

On working with Heath Ledger: “I’m so proud of that film [1999’s Two Hands]. It’s an Australian classic. Heath is so beautiful in it…they couldn’t have made it without him. We were just kids making that movie.”

Is it my twisted mind or does this dress look like raw meat? you know.. like the one lady gaga wore.

The dress is beautiful, and I agree that it suits Rose better than J Lawrence.

I agree with others here that the cover shot is disturbing with all the airbrushing and photo-shopping. Her head looks enormous in comparison to her body. (I don’t know whether that is a weird angle or p-shopping.)

    Love the purple Lanvin shot.

I didn’t care too much for that dress on the Runway…. but it makes SO MUCH SENSE on that Editorial cover….. I LOVE it!!!….

    Umm… Photoshop much?

I think that dress, from what we can see, is rather eye-catching. The color is fabulous, and Marchesa’s creations are usually gauche.

Did anyone else think this was Vogue at first glance? Well, most magazines do use the same blocky font and format.

Her dress looks much better suited for a fashion shoot than on the red carpet, the way Jennifer Lawrence wore it. I thought it looked terribly out-of-place for the HG premeire

      +1 I thought the same thing….

What a perfect cover! Though Jennifer Lawrence looked pretty in the dress, I wasn’t anywhere near as blown away by her as I was when first seeing it on the runway. But this, this is just how I imagined it! Rose looks stunning!

The photoshop on the picture with the Balenciaga top is way too much. Love this shoot in general though, she looks lovely.

Rose looks stunning in the editorial. And I love the colors they used on the cover, very striking.
