Prabal Gurung’s number one celebrity fan, Zoe Saldana, helped the designer celebrate the launch of his Resort 2013 collection at Indochine in New York City yesterday evening.
The gorgeous star was of course decked out in the Resort 2013 collection mixing a sheer blouse featuring a two-layer ruffled peplum and contrasting red trim with floral track shorts.
Her uber-cute look was styled with a red bow-accented leather belt with gold hardware plus Nicholas Kirkwood pumps.
I would’ve died if her shoes were red, so it’s a good thing she wore black as I don’t want to start my weekend in A&E.
BDOTW worthy?

She looks great, but I don’t think it’s BDOTW worthy. She also could have chosen another pair of black shoes, maybe strappy sandals. Those shoes she’s wearing are not my fave.
Agreed. So cute and stunning but not BDOTW.
Love the top but I don’t think she combined the pieces well. The floral shorts don’t really go with that gorgeous structured top – should’ve been solid red, white or black colour.
Also Christian Louboutin “Summerissima” sandals come to mind in white with black strap and red heel version. With the solid colour shorts, they would’ve worked well.
Great suggestions, Nat39!
I like Zoe’s look, but I think I would have loved it had you styled it!
+1 I like both pieces but together they just don’t work for me.
ITA
I agree. The top doesn’t go with the bottom. Also, there is something weird about the way the shorts fit. Oh, and I can’t stand the shoes.
Agree, the shorts and top look completely disjointed.
Not for me, to be honest. She looks nice enough, but I dislike the shoes, and something about the fit of the pants.
I love this collection so much! BDOTW for me!
I love the top with the shorts, especially the addition of the red bow belt. The shoes bring the look down though and that’s the only reason why I don’t think its BDOTW worthy.
i love the top, would have loved the shorts to be a skirt
She’s stunning !! I especially love the addition of the ribbon belt, but I would’ve love this look even more if she wore those Nicholas Kirkwood for Prabal Gurung resort 2013 shoes.
It’s cute, but not DBOTW in my opinion. You could fill the whole card with Emma Stone and Kiera Knightly.
I just love this collection! And I think it was a very clever idea to combine the structured top with the shorts. It’s a fun look and I really like it.
I agree with u. i thought the combination was brilliant n kindda surprise that some readers think otherwise.
The shoes could be better but i can overlook that. sad that this didn’t make the poll.
LOVE the shirt, love the shorts, don’t love them together. I don’t care for the shoes either. That said, she still looks gorgeous!
She looks adorable, the shoes may not be the perfect pair, but I love this and as a true representation of the fun you can have with summer dressing, I don’t mind at all if she makes the BDOTW list.
I agree about the shoes, red seems so obvious but in a really good way. Black pumps, especially with ankle straps, really irk me.
The black pants on the model is looking very good and is going very well with the belt , in contrast, the floral shorts and the red belt on Zoe is spoiling the cute top for me.
I loooove the look, but the shoes are not right.
Died if her shoes were red in a good way or bad way?
Good
she looks absolutely gorgeous….one of her best looks i’ve ever seen..the top is so amazing featuring the peplum detail..im so loving it
I am with those that LOVE the top and shorts together. I think it is cite, sweet, sassy and brilliant. I dont see a problem with the fit of the shorts but rather how she is standing. HOWEVER, she has no excuse for those shoes. I would have died too if they were red, maybe even satin-y heels. But if she chose to go with black, my God, there are billions of options in black shoes. Why these?
*Cute.. not “cite”
