Ellen Barkin joined a host of stars on the red carpet yesterday evening for the 2012 Tony Awards held at the Beacon Theatre in New York City.
For the past five years that I have been blogging, I don’t think I’ve ever seen Ellen wear a designer other than L’Wren Scott.
On this occasion she wore a purple Chantilly lace long-sleeved gown from the designer’s Fall 2012 collection.
Fred Leighton jewels, plus a turquoise eel clutch and matching turquoise sandals, both by L’Wren Scott, accessorized her look with a updo and glossy lips providing the finishing touches.

I watched the awards last night and was very disappointed in her look. Her hair, makeup and most of all dress were very unflattering. It looked like my granma’s tablecloth. Dyed.
I don’t know.. This gown isn’t doing her any favours, especially at the hip area.
The color of the dress and the clutch combo is gorgeous.
So true… I love the dress!
This look has a regal feel. I like it!
She looks about a million years old–bad makeup and hair. The dress is meh.
Turquoise doesn’t work with purple that well. Lavender tones are complementary to purple. Gold accessories would’ve worked just fine.
She pulls off the dress quite well for someone her age.
She’s not really that old :>
It’s oldfashioned but elegant. A lot better than some other looks tonight! I like the color on her.
