Sarah Jessica Parker attended the Gordon Parks Foundation Centennial Gala at the Museum Of Modern Art in New York City on Tuesday evening.
She opted for autumn purple hues, wearing an Oscar de la Renta Pre-Fall 2012 dress.
I love the sequin embroidered details on her amethyst block-print dress, which is styled with a deep purple velvet blazer.
Her lavender Manolo Blahnik pumps with jewelled details are divine. There are no other words for them.
If the weather is as bad in New York as it is in London, then this look is season appropriate.
The ‘Sex And The City’ actress of course carried a cross-body bag to completed her look.
No surprises there.

Love love love this dress but she didn’t do it any justice
+ 1
She should have kept the belt with the dress and not put a jacket, which destroyed all the elegance of the dress.
I agree with you, and the bag… no way.
You are so right. The dress on the runway is beautiful. Though SJP’s shoe choice works (I wish I could see the shoes in a better light) the rest of her styling does not. It’s a shame.
Unfortunately I agree with you Leela. The dress is just stunning beyond words but Sarah’s look is not cutting it. I do like her shoes as well.
I actually really love this look. Usually I don’t understand SJP’s style but on this occasion I think she looks amazing. I love everything about this look.
Hate the blazer, love everything else. The lavender pumps were a great idea. They are so mouth watering.
I don’t like it.
The lavender pumps complement the dress well. That cross-body bag has got to go (!!!) Overall not excited about this look much esp. next to the model’s photo.
I’m mentally photoshopping that bag out of the picture because the rest of this look is divine.
I’m not a fan of head-to-toe purple. Ditched the Blazer and wore another shoes, then I will love this look.
I love purple but don’t like SJP’s choice of mauve shoes as they are too light. I’d have chosen a pair of Bruno Frisoni darker purple metallic pumps, which are the perfect shade for the dress.
It is such a beautiful dress – but I don’t like it on her. She needs to lose the jacket and the bag. Also not liking the purple shoes.
ITA.
I love the dress as presented on the runway.
SJP’s styling? No.
those are manolo blahnik pumps, not louboutin
beautiful dress though!!
thanks
Leaving the blazer and a different choice of choices could’ve perfected this look.
Ditto, love the runway presentation…..
Looks a bit dated to me when SJP is wearing it – doesn’t appear so in the picture with the mode. Maybe her styling is just off.
I’m so in love with the runway version. Especially with the tights, they look so lovely there although it’s impossible for me to make them work in real life
