Yao Chen joined Maggie Cheung and Jessica Alba on the red carpet for the world premiere of the Montblanc New And Biggest Concept Store In The World in Beijing, China on Saturday.
The actress looked stunning wearing a simple Jil Sander Spring 2012 gown.
Her white strapless gown was styled with a simple Montblanc necklace, which was complementary to her look. A similar necklace had the opposite effect on Maggie’s look.
This is a very pretty look, but I was floored (not in a good way) to see that she had added black Sergio Rossi heels to her ice white gown.
The sky-blue runway heels were perfect for this look.
A sleek ponytail, a white timepiece, natural nails and shimmering lip colour provided the finishing touches.

I thought that this is beautiful minimalistic look, until I saw those shoes. I almost fell off my chair.
Yeah, the dress is really good for this type of event, but that shoes paired with this angelic dress is a big No.
I LOVE the dress & the fact that the rest of the look is also very simple. But those shoes.. What was she thinking? Such a shame.
The black shoes are a crime.
FC why don’t people listen???
*Sighs in frustration and shakes fist*
I totally agree! This is so frustrating…it would be one thing if she had paired the look with a black belt and jet jewels, but this dress was made to be summery!!!
Couldn’t agree more, who let her walk out the door in those shoes!! Ankles up the look is perfect but grr the shoes are ridiculous!
I just wanna scream WHY?? Why those heavy busy black sandals?? If in doubt, play it safe with gold/silver sandals (although those simple sky-blue heels would’ve been perfect)
this was perfect unlike seeing the shoes she chose.
the runway shoes were perfect for the dress! too bad she didn’t wear a similar color and shape
Wow
I actually don’t hate the shoes… yes I would have preferred a different color, but I think the design is cute.
FC are those the same Louboutins that the model(?) worn with that hot pink michael kors(?) dress (my memory may be failing me here)?
wow I should have read the post more closely! I see you identified the shoes. Sorry!
The models shoes are Jil Sander
It’s a great look but the black sandals ruin everything!
Chen (her given name) is beautiful – on and off the red carpet. She was my “fashion discovery” on a recent biz trip to China. This look was gorgeous except the shoes. I’m glad she opted for a ponytail. Chen has the potential to be a chic lady if she had the right stylist. Btw, your blog is quite accessible in China, where many blogs are blocked. Fashion w/o borders – awesome!
Oh goodness the minimalistic feel of this beautiful dress is ruined by those shoes! Eww
The shoes are so obviously wrong! Why? This could have been a really, really great look. I’m truly disappointed.
