Shailene Woodley attended the 2012 MTV Movie Awards, held at the Gibson Amphitheatre in Universal City, California, on Sunday evening.
Taking home the award for ‘Best Breakthrough Performance’, Shailene looked sophisticated wearing a black Stella McCartney Fall 2012 ensemble.
The sleek two-piece menswear-inspired look is a side of Shailene that we’ve yet to see.
For such a young actress, I’m constantly impressed with her versatility on the red carpet.
Silver-and-black Stella McCartney sandals provide the perfect accessory for the minimalistic look, while a messy fishtail braid and minimal makeup are a youthful touch.

I absolutely love this looks. Stella McCartney is NOT one of my personal favourites, but this ensemble is well put together and makes Shailene look very elegant, feminine with a twist and …sophisticated, as you said.
One of the best dress for sure. I really jealous she can put a make-up free (?) in red carpet and still looking gorgeous.

I really like this look but like with Louise Roe I’m missing the fun MTV factor. This is too dressy and formal.
I think this is the best Shailene looked so far. It’s age appropriate, event appropriate, chic, youthful and refreshing. I’m totally in love with her hairstyle.

She looks really cute, though her hair is a little heavy from the front.
Disappointed–I find this outfit to be unflattering, aging, and at the same time too revealing. I agree with Riley–she should have worn Christopher Kane. The hair has a fun beachy vibe, but it doesn’t go with the rest of this meh look.
