Emma Stone was honoured at the 2012 MTV Movie Awards, held in Universal City last night, with the first annual ‘Trailblazer Award’.
The actress, who is back to blonde for her upcoming ‘The Amazing Spiderman’ promo tour, wore an edgy black-and-ivory Martin Grant Fall 2012 frock.
Slightly modifying the lookbook version, Emma chose to tailor the architectural black bodice, while also toning down the voluminous white bubble skirt, creating a more streamlined look overall.
Two-tone black-and-ivory Brian Atwood ‘Grace’ pumps match the dress.
A slightly tousled updo and vibrant rose-pink lips complete the look, and add a much-needed dose of colour.

This is a impeccable look. She is one of my best dressed.
+1 – she looks phenomenal from head to toe! My best dressed of the event and my first BDOTW
Mine too. Best dressed.
same!
By modifying the dress her stylist Petra Flannery made the dress meh.
The buttery, plush, whipped runway skirt was SO delectable. The dress was butchered.
This dress DESPERATELY needs a rerun.
This look isn’t doing anything for Emma.
+1
Are those pin-tucks (or whatever the correct terminology) at the hem of Emma’s skirt? Hack job. Brings down the look for me a bit too. Love the shoes.
+2. The skirt is so perfect, why modify it? I will never understand this.
She made the skirt boring. Shame :/
Not everything works well/has the same effect off the runway. The modifications are right for her imo, she made it work for her, she could’ve easily ended up looking silly on the red carpet in the runway version. This look is excecuted flawlessly (although I’d probably add a gold cuff/bracelet)
I love this! So classy and feminine!
She looks great! BDOTW!!!
+1
i kind of hate what she did to the bubble skirt. that was pretty much the best thing about the dress in the first place.
I like this. I’m not sure if I love it but I like her modified version more.
Emma looks nice but the runway version is way cooler
i’m not love it.
Love her, love her in this dress. Look like she’s finally found her fashion feet again after being a tad shaky upon her return to blonde.
She looks beautiful and classy as always, but I really hope she starts to wear more colourfull stuff if she’s going to stay a blonde for a while.
Amazing. Definitely my favorite of the night.
She looks nice, but a bti blah, last year she was best dressed if I remember correctly, this year she is just ok by her standards. Also, the red carpet seems to be almost all black & cream/white clothes this year, it’s really disappointing.
I don’t like the modified skirt. However, I love her Makeup/Hair and shoes.
love love love love it! i just saw the video on mtv.com, she looks AMAZING, much more then in this picture. BDOTW
Runway version is much better. Why modify an already great looking skirt? I like everything top-up.
She looks so lovely! I like the original skirt, but I understand why she modified it. Regardless I think it’s a great look and I can’t wait for Spiderman promo to heat up.
She looks great, I like it but I don’t love it.
+1 Emma is a pretty girl. Her hair and make-up are flawless. This look however is meh. She could have done better, and I have seen her do better.
Only wish that she had kept the more voluminous runway skirt. It would have been fab! I was disappointed about that. Still, she looks so very chic–one of the most memorable of the night!! She’s working the blond hair here with the bright lip, and I love that she didn’t go for the basic black pump!
I love the bodice on her version. Don’t mind the changes one bit. Too much bubble in the skirt could have changed the feel of the look on the red carpet.
The skirt doesn’t look that bad here, but I found watching it when she was onstage that it was horribly unflattering.
best dressed!
I wonder why she altered the dress i much prefer it in the lookbook saying that i think she still looks great BDOTW for me
