For its June/July Music Issue, NYLON magazine features musician Shirley Manson of the legendary band Garbage on the cover.
In honour of the cover style NYLON threw a bash to celebrate at The Roxy Theatre in New York City on Wednesday evening.
The singer wore a Louis Vuitton Spring 2012 dress.
I wouldn’t have thought this cutesy dress was Shirley’s style, but she loaded it up with Gray Gallery jewelry including a vintage Tibetan Hair Stone necklace and Jerome C. Rousseau ‘Renegade’ black cut-out ankle boots which seem more up her rock n’ roll alley.
A braided updo with aqua-blue swallows and brooches as decoration plus an orange-red lip colour completed her look.
I don’t know about you, but this look feels very disconnected. Especially the shoes with the dress. I just don’t get it.

I agree. I love the hair, and think that the necklace even kinda works – but the shoes are just wrong.

I love Shirley! Just saw her and Garbage in concert last Friday. I don’t love the shoes or the necklace, but it’s nice to see her trying to mix things up by venturing into her lighter colors.
I’ve never thought about S. Manson wearing LV, but I kinda like this look. The shoes are not the best choice, but I love them. The hairstyle is incredible!! She doesn’t look 45 at all.
Totally agree — apart from the shoes, which are amazing and kinda leave me on the fence, the rest of the look turned out great for me, a kind of prim rock and roll sort of thing.

on anyone else i would have hated it, but on shirley im loving it. the shoes add some edginess to it.
She could have worn this dress with the shoes the model is sporting. But it would have been too cutesy. I dislike the whole look.
