After extending her time in Europe following Cannes Film Festival, Eva Longoria was back stateside yesterday.
The actress attended the ‘For Greater Glory’ LA premiere held at the AMPAS Samuel Goldwyn Theater in Beverly Hills, California, wearing a Marchesa Fall 2012 dress.
Whilst I do love this laser-cut funnel-neck flared dress with intricate shoulder detail, it was one of the few edgier dresses from Marchesa which I had pictured on someone like Rihanna, Elizabeth Banks, Leighton Meester or even Taylor Momsen who attended this presentation.
The drop-waist dress doesn’t excite on Eva. I wish she’d picked one of the prim ladylike cocktail dresses from this collection which are more suited to her style.
Her girlie ponytail and those darn Brian Atwood ‘Maniac’ pumps don’t work with this look either.
So between the styling and the wrong choice of dress, this is a no from me.

she looks Kardashian-ish.
uggh those god damn shoes again? the hair is a little too “elegant” for such an edgy dress, although it makes a change from the boring victoria beckham dresses she likes to wear.
This look reminds me of her Marchesa one at the 2012 Correspondents’ Gala … which wasn’t great either.
Yeah, I got a deja vu feeling from this. It was bad then, and it’s actually kind of worse now!
Let’s raise a petition to make Eva live at Cannes year round.
Completely, the silhouette of the bodice is the same, the shoes are basically the same, and the clutch is similar too. The hair is the same, the makeup is the same and the pose is the same.
That whole outfit is so unfortunate. I don’t like Marchesa very much, but this would look better on someone who was taller.
+1
this dress needs someone taller AND with attitude. eva is short and sweet, not edgy. and lets not start on the shoes. it looks like she glued them on her feet and wears them with EVERY possible outfit. terrible sight.
I think this look could have been greatly improved with a darker lining to match her skin. And different shoes, of course!
A BIG no from me.
I agree, the dress is great, but it is somehow lost in Eva…
A big no. The hairstyle is meh, the shoes…C’mon, eva! The dress is not doing her figure any favors. She looks confused.
Damn those shoes!! I really like this dress but on Eva it isn’t working. I just don’t think she is tall enough or has the attitude to pull this off.
What happened?
I agree with you FC.
A big no for me…on desperate house wifes she has cuves but when she is not on work her curves disapeares, this dress does not enhance her feminin curves…she shouled dress more like on the desperate house wifes…lol
She has no curves but the wardrobe department at DHW is better at faking it than she is.
This dress looks so absolutely wrong for her body.
It seems to me that none of the full-skirted, short-sleeved dresses we’ve been seeing lately is flattering to anyone over 13.
I’m sorry but Eva has always look dated to me no matter how hard she tries. This definitely broke the camel’s back. Please retire and be a real housewife. She cannot pull off any high-fashion notes. Period.
