Natasha Poly In Roberto Cavalli – ‘Cosmopolis’ Cannes Film Festival Premiere

Natasha Poly attended the ‘Cosmopolis’ premiere this evening during Cannes Film Festival and it wouldn’t surprise me if all eyes were on her.

The model wore a daring Roberto Cavalli gown which gave us our first preview of the designer’s Resort 2013 collection.

Her red dress with a plunging neckline and cut-outs was clearly made for someone with a body (and confidence) like hers.

Natasha matched her lips and her pumps to her dress plus she added an Alexander McQueen gold knuckle duster clutch to complement her earrings.

If you are a longtime Cavalli or Victoria Beckham fan like I am, this gown will bring back some fond memories as VB wore a very similar daring frock to the Fashion Rocks event.

A stunning gown or TMI?

It’s like a one-piece swimsuit and a skirt – go summery for Cannes but not that much

  2. Frida May 25, 2012 at 18:34 #

I don’t like it, not one bit. It looks like one of them cut-out swimsuits with a skirt.

  3. Alina May 25, 2012 at 18:36 #

Fierce! She’s been working the red carpet at this year’s festival.

    • bee7 May 26, 2012 at 06:37 #

ITA- fierce is the word to describe!

    • Barbs May 26, 2012 at 13:25 #

She’s on fire this year @Cannes! One look fiercer than the other! And the make up and hair are always flawless! Love it!

Holy mother of cutouts, boobs and skin. Natasha is clearly living up to the phrase “If you got it, flaunt it.” But in my opinion, she should have covered up a little more.

  5. noo May 25, 2012 at 18:37 #

the styling is flawless, but the dress is TMI :S

    • EmmaWoodhouse May 25, 2012 at 19:13 #

Yes, I love her makeup, jewelry, etc. (although the hair is a little too “windblown”) but the dress is a trashy mess. Imo it doesn’t matter how fit or beautiful a person is, showing it all of this manner is never flattering or classy. She’d be much more beautiful if she were properly covered!

See and learn, dear Anja, what the word ‘sexy’ means.

  7. Kelly May 25, 2012 at 18:45 #

On Natasha it works. On someone else it could have gone terribly wrong. Gorgeous. Girl has been working it the entire festival!

  8. Marybeth May 25, 2012 at 18:46 #

    Love her attitude and styling.
Hate the dress. The lines are awful — and what’s with the bows under the boobs?
For me, this is a FAIL.

She certainly has the body and the attitude to pull off such a revealing gown but with this much flesh on display it’s starting to look cheap. She looks like a high-priced call girl.

    • Rebecca Z May 25, 2012 at 21:13 #

Amen. She is so stunning that she doesn’t have to do this. Actually, no one has to do this.

  10. betty courtied May 25, 2012 at 18:51 #

i agree, styling is good but the dress is a little too much (or little?) for Cannes.

  11. AW May 25, 2012 at 19:01 #

Again I say, I’m constantly questioning Cavalli’s taste level. Bebe sold a nearly identical dress 5 years ago and that’s NEVER a good comparison.

  12. SilentVisitor May 25, 2012 at 19:05 #

No, big No. too revealing for me……it ends up looking cheap…..love her makeup

  13. Yeliz May 25, 2012 at 19:07 #

It’s too revealing. Her Gucci look was way better.

  14. shap_half May 25, 2012 at 19:12 #

I love Natasha, and I think her makeup, hair and those earrings are stunning, but this gown is not classy and it really ruins all the beauty from the neck up.

I can just see a lot of girls trying to re-create this for prom and…

  16. gabis May 25, 2012 at 19:20 #

Awful tacky cheap-looking dress that gets overrated because it’s from a fancy designer. The label and the price don’t change the fact that this gown is horrible. Her styling is great though aside from the matching lips which I dislike. Btw, Roberto Cavalli managed to be a very popular choice among Cannes’ celebrities this year. Very surprising. I think it’s been a while since I have seen so many of his creations on red carpets in such a short time.

  17. A. May 25, 2012 at 19:26 #

The gown is just too revealing for my liking. Kudos to the L’Oreal makeup artists, they made her look nice.

  18. Jones19 May 25, 2012 at 19:32 #

It’s too trashy for Cannes but at say the Grammys this would be a hit.

  19. dee May 25, 2012 at 19:40 #

This is terrible. Way too much showing.

  20. Linda May 25, 2012 at 19:52 #

Stunnnig. I simply cannot comprehend how anyone could imagine this is anything but. It’s baring, but it looks so damb good I can forgive that.

  21. Vivienne May 25, 2012 at 20:37 #

    TMI overload!

  22. Noora May 25, 2012 at 20:45 #

stunning from the neck up, the rest is a red, hot mess!!!!

  23. Fanny May 25, 2012 at 20:50 #

    1. What does TMI mean?
    2. If it was just covered on the sides I would have loved this! Her earrings are gorgeous.

    • Fashion Critic May 25, 2012 at 20:54 #

      too much information

  24. pixie May 25, 2012 at 20:59 #

    deja vu:

    • Fashion Critic May 25, 2012 at 22:41 #

I have said that in the text, but i guess you didn’t read it

  25. Carolina May 25, 2012 at 21:49 #

Cheap look, though she looks better than VB, who is a shiny hot mess.

  26. Grace Patricia May 25, 2012 at 21:59 #

No. I don’t like the kind of dressing “I have an amazing body and I must show it”.

  27. Christine May 25, 2012 at 22:47 #

On kate upton it would have been trashy. For some reason, I like it on her. She wears the frock well.

  28. Rosalie May 26, 2012 at 04:06 #

OMG I saw this and I thought Victoria. LOL

    Particularly the Spring 06 one!

It was red and had daring cut-outs too. Haha I loved those days

  29. Jess2 May 28, 2012 at 03:52 #

I don’t like this dress, it doesn’t look well made too me and is a bit tacky. I like her styling though
