Nicole Kidman opted for a simple elegant look on the red carpet tonight for ‘The Paperboy’ Cannes Film Festival premiere.
Many of you had your fingers crossed that she would be wearing Chanel, but she opted for a Lanvin gown which was custom-made by Alber Elbaz.
The rose tulle silk pleated one-shoulder gown with an embroidered crystal detailing was styled with ivory Casadei sandals.
Her classic, elegant gown didn’t give me the wow I was hoping for. But she looked beautiful nonetheless.
A side-parted bun with a few pieces framing her face and diamond Cartier jewels completed her look.

Yay from the front – maybe nothing impressive but very pretty and elegant. From the back, however, as a big fan of sexy open backs, I have to say this is NOT sexy (kinky more like it) – too bare plus that strap…it’s a no from the back for me.
Not to be crude but I cannot help but notice her breast, this dress is way too see through!

This is so chic – we’ve seen too much glitz at this festival – everyone fighting to (litterally) shine the most and it’s refreshing to see such class on the red carpet – I do believe her two previous outings at Cannes in YSL for Moulin Rouge and in Lacroix for Pucci for Dogville were more impactful but this just too classy to be criticized at any level – hair, make-up and jewels complete the look beautifully – overall I think she is on her way back to early 2000 form

The dress does have a slit actually. You can see it in photos where she’s walking. It’s beautiful and her legs have got me so jealous!

Honestly, people really just need to get over wanting her to wear Chanel. I have no clue if there was some sort of strife between her and Karl Lagerfeld but she hasn’t worn Chanel since her time as ambassador for Chanel N.5. Move on.

A resounding yay. Lanvin — swoon. Her hair, that back view, the curve giving silhouette, the tiny waist, the sweetly sexy softness — sigh. No, it is not the Nicole of the chartreuse Galliano for Dior. But someone equally as beautiful at a different stage in her life. BDOTD.
She looks beautiful but kinda disappointed with this look. A far cry from Nicole’s prior Cannes looks circa 2001 (Tom Ford for YSL) and 2003 (Lacroix for Pucci). The 2001 looks is one of her best looks ever.
I agree that it’s not wow but still beautiful. To me she’s so insanely gorgeous anyway that it’s hard to make her not look good. Love the color of the dress and it gives a kind of goddess feel. Beautiful.

She looks divine. Love the look head to toe. The gown (especially the back), hair jewels are gorgeous and I wish I had her peaches and cream complexion, which the back glorifies. A total winner, one of her best ever looks.

Have to say I think it is pretty gorgeous. The dress is beautiful and it suits her tall willowy frame. The color is good, her makeup is so perfectly complementary and her hair is soft and lovely. Love the earrings. And, if I had a breast like that, I’d let it peek through a little too.

I absolutely love this outfit, ti is easily one of my favourites form Cannes this year. I never expect from Nicole what she used to give us around 2004 and 2005, so for how sh dresss nowadays, I love it.

Whilst I love the soft raspberry color and the filmy pleats, but the top of the dress is a disappointment. From the back, it’s entirely too bare, and from the front, the lack of petal covers–or SOMETHING–is VERY unfortunate. Her hair, makeup, and jewelry is lovely, and had the dress covered her better it could have been lovely too.
