All good runs come to an end.
That was my first thought when I saw Kirsten Dunst take to the red carpet at the amfAR Cinema Against AIDS Gala 2012 this evening.
Unfortunately, I just don’t get this Louis Vuitton silk gown.
The blue and the aqua work well, but the sheer panel kills the look for me. It screams ugly.
A plunging open neckline would’ve been preferred.
I do, however, like the colourful floral belt, but I scratch my head at the styling as she added a mother-of-pearl black, gold and white clutch which competed with the belt.
I’ll be scratching my head for a while with regards to this one.

There are details that I don’t like, but in general, I like this look. What I don’t like is the sheer panel and the clutch – the panel is what I find most annoying here. However, it is a beautiful colour on her, I love the belt and I especially love her hair.
+1. I like the look in general too but I didn’t even notice the panel at first, it’s very ugly indeed.
JUST when i voted for her in bdotd poll. sigh.
Louis Vuitton looks are either hits or misses and unfortunately this is a miss. I love Kiki, and I love Kiki in blue, but I can’t get behind this.
I would like it without the mesh panel so the gown would be a v-neck plunge. Also, I wish she didn’t have her hair down (aka Fanning Hair) and whilst her clutch is interesting, it doesn’t work with her look.
The accessories are great, but the dress… I really dislike it, mostly because of the sheer panel, I think.
And I picked her as my best dressed yesterday.. Though her Dolce look was perfect. Sadly, I don’t get this look at all. Nothing of it. I’m sorry for her.
is so wish the dress was the same colour. the sheer panel ruins it though.
The only thing I dislike is her clutch. The rest is beautiful.
Awful dress–even without the panel. Just doesn’t work.
I really like it, the colour is divine on her. The waistband is really pretty. Just not sure about the clutch.
+1
Love the color. Love the belt.
Don’t like the sectioned skirt, the hair, and the odd clutch choice.
*sigh*
Don’t like the bodice at all. Had it been a simply draped bodice with a scoop neckline, that might have helped. Unfortunately, the fabric looks cheap. The belt is cool, the clutch is cool (but not with this outfit)…but she REALLY needed to have an updo.
Hopefully she’ll do better next time out.
ITA.
The only thing I like here is the clutch.
Her clutch is, I think, a variation from teh ‘Berlingot’ clutch from last year’s resort, as worn by Emma Stone. http://www.redcarpet-fashionawards.com/2011/04/26/emma-stone-in-louis-vuitton-louis-vuitton-celebrates-glamour-magazines-may-cover-girls/
OMG what happened?! Just when she looked beautiful the other day with her crown.. Too bad!
the colors look good on her though
Color of dress is heavenly, but the make up and belt is a letdown
Yeah! I love the mermaid-y look this dress has, i think it would have worked better on a fairer person like Lily collins
This dress is just ugly.
+1 and… how come no one has noticed her hideous roots? that hair is a disaster.
