Doutzen Kroes attended amfAR’s Cinema Against AIDS Gala in during Cannes Film Festival this evening.
Like fellow attendee Milla Jovovich, Doutzen also chose a Versace gown, selecting her strapless frock from the Fall 2012 collection.
The supermodel donned a white column gown with an exaggerated strapless neckline, detailed with silver embroidery.
While the runway show presented the bodice as oversized, Doutzen modified the look to become a more traditional strapless fit.
Turning around to pose for the photographers, the model showcased a very revealing scoop-back with strap-and-buckle detailing.
A purposely messy bun and smoky eyes completed the look.

I love the gown on Doutzeen and prefer her modified version over the runway, but I don’t like her frizzy hair and her black clutch and nails.

I couldn’t have said it better – WOW is right. This is my favourite Versace dress ever, I think.
Love this gown on her, she’s got the stature to present it well, the modifications make this gown more figure-flattering (although it’s starting to look a bit bridal), loving the accent on the smoky eyes but would’ve preferred her hair sleeker – updo or high ponytail perhaps, hers is a bit too soft and once again feels a bit too cutesy bridal with such a structured bodice.
I love the sexy straps on the back. Great look.
Best Versace dress from that collectio at Cannes so far. Beats Jada’s orange one in my opinion as Doutzen looks classier.

I think that this is a gorgeous look. The hair, makeup & dress all work beautifully together. Her nails especially really tie in the whole look, imo. I do wish that she’d carried an actual clutch though, because in the photos it appears as though she is just carrying her phone, either that or she has very few things.

I love Doutzen! This dress is fantastic from the front, but from the back it’s old school tacky Versace from the early 90s to me. Nicole Kidman’s fuschia Lanvin dress with the the one strap displayed her back so much more elegantly.

From the front the gown is kind of blah–nothing about it makes me warm to it. From the back, it’s super tacky. I do like her soft hair and makeup, though, but that’s it.

Doutzen, for me, is almost always a red carpet disappointment. It’s because she’s literally IMPOSSIBLY beautiful and a supermodel and has an incredible body … but somehow, she always chooses something that doesn’t flatter her shape or a colour that’s not right for her.
This dress is an example where she got it right. She doesn’t have much of a waist, so having the detailing there really helps give her the look of an hourglass figure. She’s a n elegant lady, so the sexy back works on her.
