Bella Heathcote attended the ‘Killing Them Softly’ after party at Villa St George during Cannes Film Festival yesterday evening.
Despite being a newbie on the red carpet, the Australian actress has really earned her stripes.
On this occasion she donned her first couture, by Chanel no less.
The black Chanel Fall 2009 Couture dress with a layered skirt and a rise-and-fall hemline has light embellishments on the shoulder.
Bella completed her look with Nicholas Kirkwood black satin rose sandals, Chanel Fine Jewelry and wavy locks.

She is swamped in this dress–because she is small and has no attitude!
Bella is very quickly becoming one of my new favorites. Stunning girl, and she’s been making some great choices. I love that she doesn’t seem overwhelmed by this dress.
Also, I’m glad to finally be seeing some Chanel in Cannes this year.
The shoes get a pass because she is going for a Gothic look, but I wish she put her hair in an elegant updo. Her hair down makes it look like she just zipped the dress on you know?
+1. The hair is too casual. Makeup too.
Would’ve preferred an updo but she looks beautiful nontheless.
I can’t believe that Bella is a newbie on the red carpet as she didn’t failed once. I hope this amazing run will remain long.
Her first couture dress, her first look that I don’t like.
Too safe for a couture dress.
I’m getting a Keira Knightley vibe from her – maybe it’s the hair? But I do like all the different looks we’ve been getting from her, she’s been a lot of fun to watch.
She needed more inspiring styling to bring this look to life, hers is too bland and boring, she looks like a new mom. Bolder hair style and eyemakeup and more inspiring sexy sandals would’ve elevaed the look.

This is the first time I’ve disliked Bella’s look. Some Chanel dresses are unattractive and unflattering and this is one of them.
This is pretty unattractive and unflattering, as Linda said. It needed an updo but that wouldn’t have saved it–it’s just swamping her. And it’s so dark!
