Alexandra Maria Lara was breathtaking on the red carpet tonight for the ‘On the Road’ Cannes Film Festival premiere.
The Romanian-born German actress wore one of my favourite pieces from the Elie Saab Fall 2011 Couture collection.
What a stunning creation.
She opted to keep the styling simple for her fully-beaded short sleeve gown which was accented with a velvet floral appliqué at the waist.
A light red lip colour and diamond bracelet completed her look.
Needless to say she is one of my faves of the festival, even though this was on my wish list for Hilary Swank.

I like it – i think it looks better on the runway- the colour of all the dresses from this Elie Saab collection is better on the runway- I think it’s the lighting – still she looks good

Just perfect.
I think the overlay of her dress is more sheer than on the runway. You can see her neckline much more, and the stripes of the bodice are much more apparent. Perhaps, Lara requested a sparkle reduction. Though I slightly prefer the runway version, it’s still quite beautiful.
Can I say that I want this in the BDOTY poll?

This gown is exquisite! The skirt part reminds me of rain and the top part like dew or stars. What we ordinary girls would give to wear a dress like this just once! Sigh.

BDOTD! I don’t like the sheer skirt but it’s so subtle I hardly notice it. This dress is SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO gorgeous–one of my faves from this AMAZING collection!!!! Alexandra is a knockout in it. Definitely my BDOTD so far.
FC, I know it´s late but can u post pics of the Argentinian ambassadors of L’Oréal? Some of them looked amazing in Cannes and We have never seen someone from our country here!

Incredibly beautiful! I know it has short sleeves and a sheer skirt, but something about it reminds me of Russian royalty (another Alexandra). I’ve never seen her before, but I hope she’ll show up more frequently here.
