Karolina Kurkova opted for a highly dramatic look on the red carpet this evening for the ‘Killing Them Softly’ premiere during the Cannes Film Festival.
She donned a Roberto Cavalli Fall 2012 mermaid gown fully embroidered with black paillettes and a leather strap.
Her halter gown was styled with a very dark lip colour — a trend that started at the Met Gala, which we’re also seeing at Cannes.
I love the gown; it’s just the right amount of drama a Cannes premiere needs.
Stunning jewels and a pewter clutch provided the finishing touches.

I can always count on KK to bring it.
She literally shut the house down. Goddess.
The amount of the black paillettes is slightly overwhelming, not liking the leather strap, but I like the overall drama of the look.
ahh she looks amazing! she is always on her game, this is one of the best looks from cannes imo.
I think she pretty much ruled the red carpet. What say FC? She looks like she’s channeling goth glamor. And what a coincidence, it’s World Goth Day today
Definitely one of Cavalli’s best creations on the Fall 2012 collection.
I intensely dislike this. it’s so dark and gothic and kind of trashy–Morticia Addams trying to be sexy. I do like the paillettes but the look didn’t sit right with me, particularly styled with stark hair and dark lip.
I really can’t stand that dark lip on this occasion (wasn’t much of a fan either). The gown is gorgeous but I would’ve preferred a red lipstick.
Stunning, love this look.
This I love! If you’re going to wear black at Cannes, make it STUNNING.
The dark red lippie works for me here. I hate it when people slavishly follow a fad without consideration of their outfit and own complexion.
Karolina nails it, as usual.
Absolutely breathtaking!
Love this – she shut it down!!
Nothing to add, other than I too love this, KK is so gorgeous, everything perfectly styled.
I am totally tiring with the dark lipcolor thing UNLESS it is clearly needed for a look, like a Gothic look or a futuristic look.
I love it too! Better than the Met Gala IMO. I tried, but I just couldn’t get on board with the turban. This, however, is fantastic.
ITA, especially the part about the turban.
Agree about the turban.
For me, she’s been this season’s revelation. I can’t wait to see what else she’ll be pulling out.
Karolina is rocking this dark lip trend! And the dress is just amazing.
Stunning! Definitely BDOTD.
Boooring. I do have black sparkly gown fatigue.
Love it! Especially love when someone makes a black dress look amazing!!
Fantastic. Love it.
I love the dark lip trend!
Karoline strikes again. However, I would have preferred a red lip color, it would add some color, but I understand what she was going for.
I think they have gone a bit ott with the paillettes but she does look amazing, loving the drama off this look and I love the lip colour. Karolina alsways knows how to bring it!!
She looks beautiful, but it’s hard to top her Rachel Zoe look.
KK is always a stunner on the RC!! I love the dress, even if I’m no fan of dark red lips it works fine on her.
The gown is nice, but nothing to get too excited about, in my opinion, and I really dislike her hair and make-up.
