Carrie Underwood had a Cinderella moment on the white carpet at the MGM Grand Garden where the 2012 Billboard Music Awards was held in Las Vegas, Nevada.
She wore one of my favourite looks from the Oscar de la Renta Fall 2012 collection.
I adore this silver-and-rose tulle draped gown. Everyone gasped when it took to the runway during New York Fashion Week.
It’s no surprise that the wearer was Carrie, as she does love a frothy gown.
Oscar de la Renta accessories accompanied her dress. They included a pearl-and-crystal sapphire ‘Cara’ vanity case and silver paillette open-toe heels.
Whilst I do love a big dose of sugar on the red carpet, the look would’ve been less sickly sweet had Carrie opted to wear her hair back.
With the skirt being so frou frou, the look would’ve been balanced out with a sleeker hairstyle.
Dark eye makeup and a nude lip shade completed her look.

WOW WOW WOW! She looks amaaaaazing!!! Princess perfect, and not too much, which is weird because this gown is BIG!
+1 Simon. This looks is everything the little princess within me loves and the hair is not too voluminous to compete with the dress so it’s fine.
+2
Oh dear… I guess I’m just not girly enough to appreciate this look.
a beautiful dress but it feels wasted at this event.
this dress should be worn to Cannes or the MetGala.
i think its a bit of an overkill
i love this!!! carrie is being girly as usual, but she is not looking like she’s in 2005 anymore which is great
GORGEOUS dress, wrong event. What a waste
that clutch is too ‘little girl playing princess’
Whilst this is a beautiful gown and looks much better on Carrie than on the model, I can’t love it. I agree with everyone that it’s not event appropriate.
I guess she thought she is going to Cannes or the Oscars, because for me that is the only explanation to wear such a gown at the Billboard Music Awards.
LOL.
looks like “barbie goes to prom”, the dress looks an absolute mess and the clutch looks tacky.
I feel like it’s too much for the Billboard Awards, but she does look beautiful. I also agree that a sleeker hairstyle would have been better.
It did seem a bit OTT for the billboard awards.
she’s wonderful, that dress is like a fairytale indeed. I love the clutch though, I don’t find too small, I think it’s good and precious enough to match with the gown.. the effect is delicious! when I saw it I thought it was of Rodo Firenze’s bags, the style is very similar, they are both gorgeous..
Love the dress! I think I would like this look even more if she indeed wore her hair back…
FC Carrie looked absolutely stunning in her performance dress, that was truly an amazing, mesmerizing performance!!!! What did you think of that look? Do you know which designer?
Maria Lucia Hohan.
Surprisingly I like this look and don’t think that she is being swallowed by tulle. Love the clutch, it is super cute. I do agree that a up-do would have been great with this look.
I don’t hate it or love it. The dress is divine and wish it was at Cannes. I love the clutch
Want it so bad!
I only had one thing in mind when I saw her Barbie Doll
Would have been fun to see at Cannes, but I’m so glad Carrie wore it!! I LOVE a big princess moment
I like how the bodice is lengthened on her. That skirt is truly gorgeous! Wish she’d worn her hair up but it doesn’t ruin the look. This is my second best dressed of the night and wins my most fun award!
I would love the look if it weren’t for the dark make-up…
This dress is not working for her at all. It shrunk her body. If I couldn’t see her feet, I would swear she was walking on her knees. This dress was clearly made for tall girls. I like the color though and her hair and makeup are flawless.
Oh wow, this is such a disappointment. The styling on the runway gave this heavenly dress a slightly dark edge. Carrie looks very pretty but the magic is totally lost. The whole look is sacharine – she reminds me so much of Tinsley Mortimer and that ain’t a compliment.
Her hair looks great but what’s with her nails?! Can’t looks out of place cuz the rest is so “done up”
I little crazy
J’adore! I also would have preferred her hair up but I do love this look regardless. The gown is drop dead gorgeous.
just horrible with her hair colour/skin tone and always tacky make-up. ugh!
God, her engagement ring is so big that her wedding band has to like loop around it. WTF!
