Fan BingBing In Valentino Couture – L’Oreal Paris 15th Anniversary Dinner

Fan Bingbing had a busy night, as she also attended the L’Oreal Paris 15th Anniversary dinner, held at Plage Orange during the 2012 Cannes Film Festival.

On this occasion she wore a Valentino Spring 2012 Couture gown.

Her floral chiffon dress is so heavenly with the pretty floral print and bow accent.

Some of you say she does pretty too often and free from imperfection, but I say what is wrong with that?

This look is one of my favourites from Fan. But I have a feeling I may say that again before the festival is out.

A top knot, coral lip colour and Ferragamo clutch completed her look.

Which gown did you prefer?

The Elie Saab or the Valentino Couture?

Can’t take my eyes off her… she made it *perfect* again.

  2. allieh88 May 20, 2012 at 17:42 #

this is the prettiest dress like, ever. they did a good job with that hem and getting the height right so that the dress doesnt swallow her up.

  3. Sophie May 19, 2012 at 22:33 #

Yes, but……..her lower body looks so long…..the proportion is so off. Is it the angle of the photograph?

    • Fer May 20, 2012 at 01:19 #

She uses platform shoes HUGE platforms

  4. Sue Jin May 19, 2012 at 22:02 #

Def this one. I haven’t liked a look of hers in a while. It’s just a lovely dress

  5. Jess May 18, 2012 at 23:30 #

utterly divine! I prefer this to the Elie Saab. She has such exquisite taste, always picking gowns that leave me drooling.

  6. Shaina May 18, 2012 at 22:26 #

Very pretty, I prefer the Valentino Couture. She looks beautiful and I really like her hair up like this.

  7. Tina May 18, 2012 at 21:53 #

This looks great as usual, but I have to go with the elie Saab. She simply took my breath away with that green gown.

  8. Amy May 18, 2012 at 19:42 #

This look is so soft! It’s perfect on Fan

  9. Dhppy May 18, 2012 at 19:15 #

This may be the first time I’ve enjoyed Valentino’s overtly floral, hit-you-over-the-head with femininity collection. She carries it off well.

  10. moja31 May 18, 2012 at 18:44 #

love everything about this. this is how these floral gowns from valentino should look, everyone else that’s attempted them lately has just been put to shame.

  11. fashionmint May 18, 2012 at 16:04 #

i am in fashion love haven !

  12. EmmaWoodhouse May 18, 2012 at 15:53 #

Prefer the Valentino! She looks like some sort of nature goddess here 🙂 I think it’s hard to pull off prints and she does it so masterfully! I’m dying of Fan Bing Bing fantabulosity 🙂

  13. yvett May 18, 2012 at 14:52 #

She looks INCREDIBLY TALL here! Love!

Btw, I thought this was her last public outing in Cannes this year, no?

  14. fromchi-town May 18, 2012 at 14:51 #

I definitely prefer this one to the Elie Saab – she looks ethereal here. Again, FC – thanks for your fantastic coverage.

  15. A. May 18, 2012 at 14:38 #

She looks divine. She should do more updos, frames her face perfectly. And a quick thank you to you FC dearie. thanks for all the updates. There’s no Cannes without you.

  20. dee May 18, 2012 at 13:07 #

I like the both looks the same. So looks lovely here.

  21. Elaine May 18, 2012 at 13:00 #

I think this is her last public work event, according to her workshop, unfortunately 🙁 I would love to see more…

    • Zack May 18, 2012 at 20:07 #

She is going to be in Iron Man 3, so I think you will see her more often in the coming year.

  22. bm May 18, 2012 at 12:58 #

I prefer this one, But i still want her to take a risk more often. And she looks gorgeous in both occasion.

    • rita May 18, 2012 at 13:16 #

She did a couple of months ago and it was HORRIBLE! I do think she is someone sweet and girl, therefore she shouldn’t try be something else.I remember that little dress she wore and washed her out and she added an awful hat with it. NO WAY, I want her look bad like she did that time 🙁

  23. Christine May 18, 2012 at 12:53 #

P.S She looks really tall in this dress.

    • Linda May 19, 2012 at 00:05 #

Yes, I swear she’s perching on a stool under that skirt – ! I’ve thought she’s looked impossibly tall a few times now.
That said, she does look beautiful here.

  24. Christine May 18, 2012 at 12:52 #

She looks pretty. I say why not wear the boldest, the biggest train, the prettiest train at Cannes?! Its Cannes 😀

  25. Lee Ann May 18, 2012 at 12:47 #

This is such a hard dress to wear and she makes it look effortless. I sometimes find her a little too quirky but I do love this.

  26. Fiona May 18, 2012 at 12:46 #

I say this is better than the Elie Saab, only because this look is deceptively difficult to pull off successfully (think SJP at the Met Gala), the total floral look can be overwhelming or just too twee, she makes this look elegant and ethereal, not easy for mere mortals.

  27. Yeliz May 18, 2012 at 12:34 #

I never thought that I wouldn’t prefer Elie Saab but I do on this occasion. Actually it has nothing to do with her gown (which suited her perfectly), it’s just the necklace which was out of place IMO, therefore I prefer Valentino.

  28. Médée May 18, 2012 at 12:15 #

How can I like this more than her Elie Saab gown ? She looked perfect then, so how can she possibly look even more than… perfect ? She’s surreal.

So yeah, if I had to choose, I’ll say this one is my favorite, because it’s more difficult to make such an impact in a floral gown than in a sequin one.

  29. Beta May 18, 2012 at 12:09 #

I dont have ANY problem with Fan looking drop dead gorgeour every single time.
Hard decision to pick btw the Saab and this gown. Mmmm

  30. Bwitherza May 18, 2012 at 12:01 #

    Valentino couture!! Valentino!! Definitely Valentino!!

  31. Emi May 18, 2012 at 11:43 #

    Elie Saab, definitely.

  32. TL May 18, 2012 at 11:33 #

Another gorgeous look from Fan, can’t believe she’s only 5’6″, she looks soooo tall here!

  33. Nat May 18, 2012 at 11:21 #

    This is lovely.
I’ve always wondered: how tall is Fan? Often (as in this case, for example) she manages to wear outifts that make her look supertall and slender.

  34. Charlotte May 18, 2012 at 11:17 #

Wow, she did it again… I can’t believe how good she looks.
I think I prefer this look, because it’s so soft and feminine. Although she did look great in Saab too.

  35. Manuel May 18, 2012 at 11:07 #

Crown Princess Mette-Marit of Norway wore the same dress at the MET gala last week. Unfortunately there are non good pictures of her because she, clever girl, did not want to be in the center of the attention

  36. Natalie May 18, 2012 at 11:02 #

i do think we’ll be saying ‘this is our favorite look’ from Fan Bing Bing many times over this festival. This is stunning and is currently my favorite look from her haha, probably because i’m partial to Valentino couture

  37. Iris May 18, 2012 at 10:55 #

FC, can I say that I look forward to Cannes only for the pretty frocks? All thanks to you! You do an incredible job round the year, but like Fan Bing Bing and Eva Longoria, Cannes brings out something special in you as well!

    • Fashion Critic May 18, 2012 at 11:14 #

Thank you so much. That really made me smile. Thank you.

I will carry this with me throught the rest of the festival 😉 xxx

  38. CreoleLady May 18, 2012 at 10:55 #

Tough call, I really like both looks. Both are so beautifully executed (no too-long hem problems, yay!), that I’ll have to nitpick to decide. Ok, can’t find anything wrong, will have to decide based on whether I’m in the mood for sweetness or drama. Ok, still can’t decide. I’ll have to get back to you.

  39. Iris May 18, 2012 at 10:53 #

    Oh, the Elie Saab, anyday

  40. kath May 18, 2012 at 10:46 #

I prefer the Valentino. As Fan is 5’6″ I am astounded at how tall she looks here!

  41. bessie May 18, 2012 at 10:44 #

My vote goes for Valentino Couture.Love this one!!

  42. Rash May 18, 2012 at 10:40 #

Yes that’s the word FC, heavenly. She’z epitome of beauty and grace here.
Its sooo difficult to choose between Elie and this, but I would have to go with Elie , I loved the way that was styled !

  43. Jenny May 18, 2012 at 10:37 #

Ok, this or the previous one was her ending look from this year’s Cannes….will u miss her
