Our favourite French actress Marion Cotillard made her first appearance at the 2012 Cannes Film Festival this morning, attending the ‘De Rouille et D’os’ Photocall at Palais des Festivals in Cannes, France.
She looked beautiful with the French Riviera in the backdrop wearing a Christian Dior Spring 2012 dress with a gold waistband.
Her peachy short-sleeve dress with a textured bodice and floaty chiffon skirt has been lined from the sheer version that took the runway.
Marion’s hair and makeup were kept simple as she completed her look with pale-lemon Versus patent leather slingbacks from the Spring 2012 collection.

I love the shoes! Unfortunately I can’t say the same thing about the fit of the dress. The dress itself is beautiful and I’m glad that she added the belt but I don’t like how it looks in the bust area.
+1
+2. It makes her look too top heavy which is a shame. She needs to learn how to dress those knockers.
+3 Agree on everything. weird fit at the top, but I love the shoes! very cute.
Loved the addition of Gold waistband, and the lemon slingbacks are perfect for a day photo call.
Wow she looks breathtaking! I adore everything about this look. also can’t wait to see her promo tour for the ‘Dark Knight Rises.
Peach and lemon? I’m not sure I love those colours together.
The dress is pretty and I really like the gold belt. But is just me or do Marion seem too busty for this dress? I never thought I’d say this about her, it’s weird.
I wish she’d worm the mint version of the shoes
My thoughts exactly. Peach and lemon don’t really go together, and I also think she is too busty for this textured bodice.
I love it from the ankle up. The shoes are fine just not with the outfit. I think she should have worn gold sandals, though that may have made it look more suitable for the evening.
I dont get the ‘V’ part on the top of the dress. Other that that, she looks lovely as always.
I love it,and shoes are great if unexpected color with the dress, but works for me.Love it,love her
Dear FC!!
You should feature my fellow Belgian Matthias Schoenaerts (he also stars in the movie) and he is absolutely dreamy :cough: I mean he dresses very well
He does! he’s brilliant
Don’t like the fit around the bust.
And the shoes are fine just not for this dress. The colours clash for me, and the dress needs an open toe shoe.
The top half of this dress is not flattering, the v is too wide and makes her chest look also wide unfortunately. The skirt part is very pretty and the shoes are cute.
I agree word for word.
+2
As beautiful as she looks, I have to say this dress seems better suited for someone in the 15 to 25 category. I love Marion though, and she rarely looks bad. I don’t like the shoes with this dress.
This look is easily the best look from her since gave a birth to her child. Lovely.
Like a few of the other people commenting, I think the bodice is just a bit wrong. It makes her look a bit saggy in the bust region, which is never a good thing. Love the shoes though, very cute!
The dress seems to be too bag around the breast area.. would have looked a lot better had it been more fitting. And I absolutely hate those shoes
Oops, bag = big
Not loving the fit of the top but I like the skirt of the dress and the belt. Also really like the Versus shoes.
Very impressive, I would not have put those shoes with the dress but she makes it work. When she gets it right, she gets it right.
I am not liking the the top part of the dress (ill-fitting) but she looks good. I love her shoes!
the bust of this dress looks horrid
I like it. I’m glad she doesn’t have the bangs anymore.
j’adore marion!
Super cute. I hate the shoes but on Marion with this look they are perfect. She looks so cute I just want to put icing on her and eat her. I know that’s odd to say, but this is the cutest I have ever seen her look.
She looks like sorbet – light, cool and refreshing.
I don’t have as much of a problem with the fit of the dress as some other readers, but maybe that’s just because my eye keeps being drawn to those delicious shoes? Those shoes, my god. *drops in wishlist*
Gorgeous! The colours are perfect on her!
Very similar to the dress worn by Olivia Palermo for her Marie Claire cover. I had the same slight issue with this as that–the tulle on the bodice that stops below the shoulder-line. I can’t seem to decide if it is a chic, retro look or unflattering. However, overall this is a very chic look. I love the sorbet-like colors (as asherlev1 said) and her impeccable styling. Amazing shoes!!
She had a really bad red carpet stretch a couple years back, but she is totally back to her best here!
