Despite all the PYT’s to hit the red carpet 2012 Cannes Film Festival opening ceremony and ‘Moonrise Kingdom’ premiere this evening, Tilda Swinton actually stars in this movie.
The actress, who has pretty much worn Haider Ackermann exclusively to Cannes for the past three-years, wore a look from the designers’ Fall 2012 collection.
Her custom copper gown with a pleated, fanned bodice is sublime, yet it doesn’t beat her epic Golden Globes gown.

Who Was Your Best Dressed On Day 8 of Cannes Film Festival 2013?
How to Achieve the Classic Blowout

What i truly love about Tilda is that she is so original in her choices of colours and styles. This is truly not for everyone but then there is truly noone like her! Love her.
+1 crave her!
wish she had kept the dress in the color of the runway, as it might have been a beautiful contrast to her hair and skin… otherwise, she looks amazing!
+1
Yeah.. the runway colour would have taken to this to a whole new level. But still amazing! And so refreshing from the gowns
+2. I would have liked the runway color for more contrast to her skin and haircolor but she looks flawless none the less.
+2!
I agree too.
Yes it’s not as memorable as her Globes gown but it’s still one of her best looks IMO because I’m not always a fan of what she wears.
I prefer the runway version: lenght, colour but I like the look on Tilda
She’s a goddess. Definitely. The pleats look like a bow and the color is amazing.
Great look on an interesting actress. She always looks so relaxed regardless of the outfit.
I would like t his more if the color was a deeper brown like on the runway. She looks good though.
I have to say, it took me a while to come around to Tilda’s style of dressing, but now that I have, I am awed by each successive red carpet appearance.
She looks so regal and stunning, and brings a completely different aesthetic to the table. *BOW*
love love love love
I honestly have never liked Tilda’s style, and this is no exception. The fanned bodice is confusing and busy.. The color is not too great, either. but I’m loving Fan Bingbing on this occasion.
The rippling shine of the skirt is what is so divine. This is how you allude to your skintone with a pastel without washing yourself out.
Oh yes, well put, I can see this in a new light now….and I love the design as well.
She is truly a refreshing choice. I love this look. Only SHE can rock this.
She looks subime. There is just a quality about her , even though other people can look great and arguaby better than she does, no one else can look liek this & pull certain clothes of like she does, and it just takes my breath away.
I adore the cappuccino colour, and how is is so similar to her skin toen but yet very different. As of right now both this & the Golden Globes would be at the top of my BDOTY list, easily.
Love from the neck down. Wish she would go back to red hair and/or do something different with her makeup.
Haha, there’s something about Tilda…I hate this look, yet I love that she wore it. I’m always excited to see what she wears
Glad she’s at Cannes
Perfect for her.
I don’t particularly like Tilda’s style, I think she’s a little overrated but this does work for her.
