Melanie Chisholm joined Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge on the red carpet on Friday for the ‘Our Greatest Team Rises – BOA Olympic Concert’ in London.
Like the Duchess, the former Spice Girl also showed her support for a British designer by wearing a Victoria Beckham dress.
Her super-chic nude silk jersey dress with elegant draping was perfected with a contrasting black grosgrain belt.
I’m glad she didn’t opt for nude on nude.
This is a great look for Mel C. I can even give her a pass on the black pumps, but I do wish she’d worn a VB gown instead.
She was the only one not to wear a gown to this event.

Anyone else notice that she is trying to mimic the Duchess’s usual glossy hairstyle? No wonder Catherine decided to wear her hair up instead! Lol.
P.S. I’m not saying that Melanie doesn’t look amazing, am a huge fan of hers myself. Wish this was a gown too

The color washes her out, and the hair should be up. A big part of this is her stance – she’s not working this at all.
Ditto. She lacks sophistication in her presence to carry off this look well. The colour is a bit bland on her, and the hair should’ve been pulled up into a chic ‘do, plus the top looks droopy on her. Not really liking the execution or presentation.
She looks chic.
While I absolutely adore this look, her pose kind of brings it down.
Still, it’s a fantastic way to start the week.
I didn’t like it.
I’m not sure what she did to this outfit, but it looks totally lifeless on her. If I’d seen it on her first, I’d never have guessed it was a VB design. I’m with you FC. I wish she’d have worn a gown. It could only be better.

I don’t like this at all. This looks very frumpy. The front part looks like it needs to be retucked in or something.
I prefer the length of the outfit on the model, just slightly above the knee.
You are right FC. Melanie Chisholm is BFFs with Victoria Beckham, so she should’ve worn a custom or a runway looks from her collection.
I Think Oprah W. Wore Better
While I like the black touches, I preferred the way the peplum was on the model. On Melanie it’s a bit flat. I also think the neckline is too low and sloppy.
