We were all shocked when it was announced that Renée Zellweger was not going to be wearing Carolina Herrera to the 2012 Met Gala, held in New York City on Monday evening.
Fear not, because Peter Dundas for Emilio Pucci designed this elegant black silk gown especially for the actress.
The gown features chiffon details, an organza train and a sexy open back.
A sleek updo and silver chandelier earrings completed her look.

I think my favorite part of this dress is how the paneling created a wonderful silhouette — at once sexy and regal.

Stunning, sexy and sophisticated! The tail has a foxy or feline feel, which really suits Renee. And finally, she wore something other than Carolina Herrera! Something much more hip and exciting.

You know, I don’t love this look. It’s just leaving me really cold–possibly the diagonals have something to do with it, maybe the sheer sleeves…anyway, I’d almost prefer a stunning Carolina Herrera gown to this.

Wow, this is a great look for Renee. This is a very different side of her style. In my head she is always associated with colour but I the dramatic impact of this black gown. Love it

She and Camilla Belle were my faves of the night. Again, I feel the photos aren’t doing justice compared to the livestream. I think, because of the dark color of the dress, the details are getting lost in photos. This was a gasper.
