Lily Collins had yet another princess moment on the red carpet at the 2012 Met Gala, which was held on Monday night in New York City.
She looked adorable wearing a Valentino Spring 2012 Couture gown.
Her off-white sheer lace gown with a floral underlay, long sleeves, and a bow waistband is very ‘Little House on the Prairie’, but she totally makes it work for her.
Lily teamed her romantic gown with a Valentino grey snakeskin clutch and H. Stern jewels.
A pretty updo and soft makeup completed her look.

“she totally makes it work for her” – ITA.
Just wanted to say thanks for all the coverage, I love hearing your views on all the dresses, and really appreciate all the work you’ve done covering the event. Its a mammoth job and hope you have some champagne on ice waiting for you when you’re finished!
thanks Aideen.
A have about 10 or so to go before I call it a day.
this is my favorite dress of this collection and i was totally expecting too see it at Cannes Fil Festival next week. I don’t think Lily has the right height to pull this off.
When I saw this last night I thought she looked like she was going to a prom in the 70s, but it’s grown on me this morning.
I agree that she makes it work for her. The styling is what really saved it for me.
She’s very pretty but it’s awfully twee for the event.
Overall, I’m disappointed that so few designers honoured the theme of the night. The Met Gala isn’t just about promoting your own brand. It was the same deal last year when almost no-one captured the McQueen spirit.
I totally agree with you about last year’s event.
No, this is not a good look for her.
But, i love the clutch.
My teeth hurt just looking at her- it’s just so sweet
It sorta works but I am not liking it.
She looks cute but the GREY SNAKESKIN clutch with a lilac floral gown? NO. Even if it is by the same designer, don’t take the easy way out. Pick a clutch that works!
This gown is forgettable on her, I know I’ve been saying that a lot, but it’s true. She’s too short.
did she raid grandmas closet? on the model it looks gorgeous on lily it looks tragic.
I agree, I don’t really like it on her. I prefer to see her in edgier looks.
she looks so dreamy n romantic in it. love it!
Ditto. Hate the clutch but I’m willing to overlook it because she looks like she just stepped out of a fairytale.
I agree. The clutch has nothing to do with the gown but the overall look is just lovely!
i loved this collection when it came out, but it was very bridal… it totally works on a girl like lily collins tho
so romantic, I kinda love it. But the clutch is an odd choice
She’s beautiful, but I’d like to see her having more fun with fashion and playing with colours or mixing prints or something like that. She can do it.
I think the whole look is so delicate that she stands out.
would look so much better with better light on her, like on the model.
Romantic and elegant. I think this look is perfect for her. She knows what works for her and she is one of the best!
Nelly, from Little House, would scratch her eyes out from jealousy. I, however, am bored senseless.
Sooo cute!
I like the dress, it is cute but I don’t really like it with Lily’s colouring, she just looks too washed out. With that said though she carries herself so well in this dress. Had it been a different colour this would have been a fantastic look.
No.
I love this! She looks like a princess straight out of a fairytale! It’s so romantic. Best dressed worthy for me.
