Cameron Diaz was one of the many guests to attend the 2012 Met Gala, held on Monday night in New York City.
The actress wore a Stella McCartney gown.
Her diamond crystal fringe embroidered long gown with a draped back and long sleeves was simple, but very elegant.
The look perfectly fits this more mature approach to red-carpet dressing we are being presented with from Cameron D.
She styled her figure-hugging draped gown with Fred Leighton diamond-drop earrings and a gold-metal perforated Stella McCartney clutch.
An updo and flawless makeup completed her look, but I’m missing the sparkle in her eyes.

I would have liked this dress better on someone with a less athletic build. It looks like a gold wet suit to me.

I agree. This would have looked better on say Gwyneth Paltrow for example.
+1 to DivaDebbi–it is too much like a gold wet suit on Cameron AND her lifeless hair and sad expression really make it a dull look. +1 also to Jones19–this would look better on Gwyneth, but she did wear a long-sleeved sparkly pale-gold dress last year as well.
The dress itself is stunning. It’s not “MET” enough for my standards but beautiful.
What concerns me the most is the fit, specially in her tummy!

The dress is simply stunning but i don’t really like the way Cameron looks in it.It doesn’t represent her.
This suit makes Cameron look like a linebacker. Broad and a little scary.

Ack, no! This is so unflattering, at least from the front. If you removed her head from that first shot, you would swear it was one of the grand dames – someone in her 60s or 70s, not Cameron Diaz!! I’m betting this was gorgeous from the back view, however, and her face is perfection.

I actually thought you would love this FC. I think she looks hot and the gown is stunning. I HATE the gold clutch. She should’ve chosen a clutch to match one of the many colors coming from the twinkles of her gown.
I think this is the best she’s looked in ages – the colour is sublime on her and she doesn’t look silly or desperate, but still sexy and glamorous.
Honestly… the dress is gorgeous but not flattering on her, she doesn’t have the thinnest waist but she looks wider here, and the hee breasts seem very unnatural.
IT si so unfalttering, so so unflattering on her, and, frankly, thsi look has been done a million times before by Kate Hudson, and a million times better.
kinda weird on the bust and makes her look very boxy… her legs are her best feature, not her waist, so this look is never going to flatter.

I have to agree that it makes Cameron look boxy, but she is still well-dressed and her hair if to die for.
She’s gorgeous and styled beautifully, but I can’t ignore that this dress does horrible things to the width of her back.
It is a beautiful dress and Cameron is gorgeous but I don’t think this is the right dress for her body type.
