Eva Mendes attended the screening for ‘Girl in Progress’ held at The DGA Theater in LA last night.
The actress opted for a pretty Honor Spring 2012 dress.
Her check-print halter dress with a leather neckline and patent belt was teamed with Jimmy Choo ‘Lance’ sandals and stunning Bulgari jewels.
As much as I love Eva, this dress is a tad twee for the sultry actress.
This was a charity event, I’m not expecting her to go all-out sexy, but save this dress for the Zooey Deschanels or Elle Fannings of this world.

“…save this dress for the Zooey Deschanels or Elle Fannings of this world.” Could not agree more. Eva is drop dead sexy, she can work that sex appeal in a classy way. This is all wrong for her.
Ditto.
I have to say I really like this look. It’s event appropriate, chic and not too cutesy. Moreover I’m glad that she wore the belt and sandals.
+1!
I would hate this dress if Taylor Swift wore it, but on Eva it’s nice. But it isn’t too flattering, but maybe that’s because it’s on a size 00 model.
The dress is sweet but I think it is rather unflattering on Eva. It makes her look bulky even though she has such a great body!
I agree. Not very flattering on her.

Her make up, hair and sandals are gorgeous. But, the dress ? uh oh, better next time, Eva.
+1
Not flattering, especially on the bust. Seems like it’s a size or two too big.
I’m not sure, but it may be due to her shorter waist. You can see why the decision was made to use a belt, because without it the whole thing would have been worse. To work, the bodice should have been tailored and the waist extended, even a bit below the natural waistline.
I have to agree with FC.
A bit sugary for Eva, not really a good look on her.
It’s a lovely, spring-like look on the runway but it is so wrong for Eva. It doesn’t flatter her or fit with her image, so it’s a miss for me. I would have liked Hailee Steinfeld (WHERE IS SHE LATELY?) in this because I think it would look better on a brunette than a blonde. I do like her addition of the black belt.
P.S. FC: that Elizabeth and James Sandy Silk-Chiffon Dress would look great on you, I think!!! I can imagine you wearing it during fashion week!
oooh i would love too
