Michelle Obama In Naeem Khan – 2012 White House Correspondents’ Association Dinner

Michelle Obama was seated next to Jimmy Kimmel who served as the host of the 2012 White House Correspondents’ Dinner, held at the Washington Hotel on Saturday evening.

Unfortunately we only get a glimpse of the top half of Michelle’s Naeem Khan Fall 2011 ballgown, but it’s still enough to make me swoon.

The belle of the ball looked sensational, radiant, stunning….I could go on and on.

Naeem Khan is becoming the First Lady’s go-to designer. She has a love for all things colourful, so no surprises that she selected this strapless paisley organza ballgown.

Carla Amorim ‘Aurora’ rose gold with cronaline and orange sapphires earrings, luscious locks and a nude lip colour completed her look.

I wish she kept the asymmetrical shoulder but the gown still looks beautiful. A perfect choice too. The print makes it fit for spring/summer but it is still regal enough not to look like a maxi dress. BDOTW for sure. Well unless someone else really brings it this week.

I love the colours and the dress, however, would have preferred MO to have kept the one shoulder drape. Her neck looks a little bare even with the earrings. Overall stunning all the same.

Wow! I love love love this dress on the First Lady, well atleast from what I can see of it. This is one of my favorite gowns she has worn–for sure! I love the dress so much I hate to be negative, but her hair looks like someone smooshed the front. BDOTW look out!

Michelle Obama wins Fashion Critic’s Red Carpet Soul Sister Award as she embodies what you FC value:
confidence, empowerment, class, style over trendyness, no black pumps, COLOR, style variation and appropriate divaness (JLo pay attention).

I totally get your MO Love FC. Michelle is swoonworthy, especially compared to other Ladies of Power (LOPs) Catherine Duchess of Camberidge, Princess Charlene of Monaco, Carla Bruni and Samantha Cameron (who is the Silver Medalist of Political Fashionistas).

lol…this is great…lets hope no black pumps were involved :D

wowww !! i think Michelle Obama is the best dressed first lady, currently and in history may i say, she even beats Jacqueline Kennedy for me

  15. EmmaWoodhouse April 30, 2012 at 17:16 #

Whilst I am not a fan of her personally this is SUCH an elegant look. I like her modification to the dress and think that it is a gorgeous look.

I don´t like her hair. Her forehead seems to be enormous.. Maybe is the photo

    • Nat39 May 1, 2012 at 00:06 #

The hair brings this look down for me, it distracts from the print and takes the focus away from the eyes and earrings, makes it too fussy, should’ve been pulled back.

“Unfortunately we only get a glimpse of the top half of Michelle’s Naeem Khan Fall 2011 ballgown, but it’s still enough to make me swoon.”

That’s exactly how I feel. She looks beautiful.

  18. Jones19 April 30, 2012 at 17:57 #

She’s so amazing. She’s rivaling Jackie O as the best dressed first lady.

  19. Tom Kolovos April 30, 2012 at 18:33 #

Her hair and makeup are beautiful. The dress is NOT.

  20. Yeliz April 30, 2012 at 19:15 #

You’re AMAZING Michelle Obama! I love every single one of your fashion choices. You’re never boring and always impeccable, chic, refreshing and all the words FC said for you.

FC do you know which designer Alicia Keys or Sigourney Weaver wore? I think they were the worst dressed of the night.

    • Fashion Critic April 30, 2012 at 19:17 #

Alice DVF and Sigourney maybe lanvin

      • Yeliz April 30, 2012 at 19:36 #
