The last time we saw Cameron Diaz on the red carpet was at the Oscars, but she made a return to the limelight by attending the Pioneer of the Year Award Ceremony during CinemaCon 2012 in Las Vegas, Nevada on Wednesday.
Sticking to a simple, chic approach to red carpet dressing, the actress wore a black Rachel Roy dress.
Her black dress with an asymmetrical neck and hemline was styled with Lanvin ankle-strap wedges.
Cameron’s fitted dress was teamed with a gold chain link Cartier necklace and a bright red lip colour.
I suppose this look is OK for what it is, but I still miss the old Cameron D – desperately.

I’m not enjoying most of these mumsy (mostly black) outfits Cam’s been wearing lately.
Her haircut’s not doing her any favors.
She looks too butch.

I actually quite like the dress, but I don’t like everything else: the makeup, that necklace which doesn’t work with the asymmetrical neckline and the ankle strap shoes which don’t work with knee-lenght dresses.
I love that bright lip color. And this is a good look for Cam.
I like it – she’s not 25 anymore and need not dress like one. It fits her and she looks confident and cool.

I like it too, though I agree the ankle straps on her shoes mess with the hemline of the dress. The necklace doesn’t bother me, but the shoes do.
I could not agree more – she’s one of the few aging yet still very sexy actresses who’s embraced more mature looks and is all the more fabulous for it. Like a younger Ellen Barkin.
Cammy Diaz is such a bright sparkly person that I just can’t deal with her in black.
I actually think thta this look is awesome, although I would have lost the necklace. This is the first time I’ve liked her haircut.
This is why Cameron Diaz made my Queens of Snoozeville and Mediocrity List yesterday.
She thinks she looks chic but she is boring.
Confident, sexy, suits her maturity. My only complaint is the necklace, would’ve preferred a statement gold cuff instead (her arms are too bare while there is no need for the necklace, should’ve kept the asymmetrical neckline clean)
FC im not sure if you did it on purpose but i love how the last sentence sounds like a the Destiny’s Child song “Independent Woman” when Beyonce sings “Cameron D – destiny” lol or maybe i just really lol that song haha
Lol…no not on purpose
sorry i meant *love that song
have a fabulous weekend xxx
