Tilda Swinton joined Rihanna, Claire Danes and Kristen Wiig on the red carpet for the Time 100 Gala which honours the ‘100 Most Influential People in the World’, held at Jazz at the Lincoln Center in New York City last night.
The British actress wore beautiful Celine jumpsuit.
Whilst I love Tilda in this classic white tuxedo jumpsuit with satin lapels, it reminds me too much of her BAFTA look when she wore a very similar white jumpsuit.
It’s not often I feel a strong sense of déjà vu when it comes to Tilda, but I do on this rare occasion.
This is a stunning look nonetheless.

I think this look misses a belt. Otherwise it’s great, as usual from Tilda.
I don’t like the shape of this jumpsuit and prefer her BAFTA look over this one.

i just wich a little more definition on the waist, that´s it
Wide and shapeless, white crisp clinical uniform look. Will I ever get to see a non-androgynous Tilda with actual flattering hair and makeup I wonder… There is absolutely nothing appealing about this look.
+1
Yes, want to see her do a non-androgynous look so bad. And I don’t like her BAFTA look and I don’t like this too.
Only Tilda can rock this because otherwise……….
Lovely – chic – I love its loose shape – well done
+1. See where you care coming from, FC, but the deatils on this are so subtle and interesting it feels miles apart from teh BAFTA look for me. Love the exaggerated hips, the lapel detail, and crisp creasing that put me in mind of a tuxedo jacket. This look is pure fashion forwardness.
This look is pure fashion forwardness – Absolutely.
i dont think Tilda’s right for Celine
That stupid pin is killing all these Time 100 looks for me.
It might be because I’m immune from seeing any wrong in Tilda, but I like this look. I think that the silhoueete adn everything works because it’s her. I don’t get deja vu, bcause the hair & shape are so different, and also because she is to me, by far, teh best dressed at this event so far.
As per usual, she is the perfect palate-cleanser.
I agree with all you have said, I love everything about this look, it’s unusual and dramatic. You’ve said it just right when you call this the perfect palate-cleanser, the best done minimalist looks are just that!

Tilda can get away with fashion forward silhouettes (aka unflattering) because she is stick thin.
The problem with minimalism and suits in general is that it can easily look de ja vu, a la Claire Danes.
It’s about switching up the different forms of minimalism to keep your look fresh and varied, which is precisely what makes Leelee Sobeiski such a minimalist star.
Give her time and I think she could co rule minimalism with Queen Swinton.
I usually love Tilda, especially when she does the androgynous look, but I find this terrible.
The jumpsuit has the weirdest shape and fabric (actually, it doesn’t even look like fabric, more like some rigid plastic material). Also, the bottom of the pants needs to be hemmed.
ITA. She looks better in color. Her skin looks sunburned but perhaps that’s the red background.
It looks like a fancy base jumping outfit to me.
she looks like she’s about to paint her apartment.
Her facial structure, her hairs, her height and body language are what make the minimal look more memorable than any other actresses. She knows fashion and not any one can pull off some dresses like her. BDOTW for sure.
If you guys read the Fug Girl’s blog you will know their obsession with SWINTON, which I find very funny

It makes me always excited to see what she wears and think, “Yes, SWINTON being SWINTON!” Imo this is a weird, shapeless, and rather terrible look but it’s SO HER!
Odd shape, but Queen Tilda ROCKS it.
I too prefer her BAFTA look
+1 cant imagine anyone else looking good in this. But I love tilda
I don’t know which bothers me more about this look: the egg-shape of the jumpsuit, or the lapel decoration which screams “Nametag” to me.
My bad! I just took a closer look and see that it is indeed a nametag. Time for new glasses.
She kinda looks like a flight attendant from the future. I quiet like the look, though.
For me, this is very ugly and incredibly unflattering.
this makes her look so wide, a belt would have been a great addition. also that pin do they seriously need the guests to wear those!
