Deanie Ip also attended the 2nd Beijing International Film Festival opening ceremony, held at the China National Convention Center yesterday evening, with Fan Bingbing and Zhang Ziyi.
Her Givenchy Resort 2012 gown caught my eye because the look is different to how it was presented.
The multi-coloured jersey dress with a birds of paradise and iris flower print, previous worn by Fergie and La La Anthony, was short sleeved and knee-length.
Deanie’s gown has embellished ¾ length sleeves and a flowing chiffon train.
I never thought this dress would be transformed into a gown, but I think it works.
My first thought was that this was a DIY job, but the cut of the print on the hem on the original suggests otherwise.

the woman on her right however…….
LOL I was about to comment something similar! NIGHTMARE!
Deanie looks elegant. I prefer the dress as a gown but it still seems to make all its wearers look wide except for the model. (Joan Smalls, right?)
Yep, it’s joan
LOL at the woman to her right. definitely got dressed in the dark..
i think you all mean left
Oh. awlhtpewohte. I don’t know what it is about this, but if this were up for BDOTW, I think I might just vote for it!
+1. Me too will vote this look. she is amazing.
I like it but i think it requires a belt (not necessarily the one shown on the runway)
Her hair is like a flame. Her dress is interesting and works for her.
the modified version would have looked great on someone taller, but on deanie it makes her look extremely short. also not really a fan on how bright the blue on the bottom is.
I like it.
It works in a odd way. I prefer the runway version though.
This is one of those looks that I’m weirdly attracted to – the chiffon bottom of the dress seems strange as do the see through pale gray gloves she’s wearing…..it all seems a bit quirky, even a bit spooky, but in a rather compelling and intriguing way.
I like it!
Why it would be a DIY job? A Givenchy dress nonetheless? We all know that designers alter dress al the time to suit celebitries’ tastes, protocol, event, etc, so whyn in this case it would be any different?
