Katy Perry was in Hollywood, California, last night for the 2012 ASCAP Pop Awards, held at the Hollywood Renaissance Hotel.
The singer, who’s still sporting a much more flattering purple do, wore a Temperley London Spring 2012 gown.
Her sheer ivory gown is beautiful with its intricate embroidered details, so I’m not quite sure why she’s channelling her inner Courtney Love by wearing one of the straps off the shoulder.
You would notice…right? Especially when you are as well endowed as Katy, but in every picture the strap sits on her arm, which has the potential to turn into a major wardrobe malfunction.
Cleary still in a boho-hippie mode from the Coachella Music Festival, Katy accessorized with a daisy accent headband.
A beautiful rouge lip colour completed her look.

oh how a runway piece can go from beautiful to tragic within the space of one person wearing it.

Me too. Her hair is better this way (would be better still as black) but the look is trashy.
Courtney Love was the first thing I thought of unfortunately. I really don’t like the strap off the shoulder look it just makes the beautiful dress look super trashy! Why Katy, why?? Definitely liking this hair colour more but I don’t like her makeup here.

I feel like softer make up would have made this look a lot better, and she probably would have looked classier. Somehow, she’s managed to make this beautiful dress slightly tacky.

Katy really needs to stop fighting against her natural beauty. While I’m glad she’s on the darker end of the Manic Panic spectrum, her makeup seems too dark for such an etherial dress. And that strap brought to mind Tara Reid’s infamous nip slip- not the look she was going for, hopefully.

It is a stunningly beautiful dress and it looks wonderful on her body. I like the bracelet. If only she had continued the classy theme with her hair and worn the dress as intended. Sad to say she does cheapen this beautiful dress.

She looks beautiful in the dress just wish she hadn’t intentionally let her strap hang off her shoulder.
She drained all of the elegance out of the dress. Also, I agree about the hair, it goes with more because it is coser to black, which I wish she would return to.
Oh, I hate to admit it, but you’re all right. I love me some sexy Katy Perry wearing a real hair color, but this is veering towards sloppy.
The first thing I thought of was Tara Reid and her nip slip lol! She even looks a bit trashed in the eyes?
If you look at the pictures of Katy on stage, you’ll see that the strap is very firmly in place where it belongs. Maybe there was indeed a wardrobe malfunction during the photos that caused the loosened strap. Whatever, I do like my Katy and thinks she looks lovely.
