Alessandra Mastronardi joined Penelope Cruz on the red carpet for the world premiere of ‘To Rome With Love’ at Auditorium Parco Della Musica in Rome, Italy, on Friday night.
She was elegance personified wearing a Valentino Spring 2012 gown.
Her powder-pink multi-layered tulle gown with with puffed long sleeves is embroidered with neon-pink-and-black contrast lace which make the gown so romantic and heavenly.
I actually prefer this look to Penelope’s red-carpet look.
It’s funny how nearly everyone who wears a look from this collection opts for a braided hairdo.
Alessandra completed her look with a black, white and gold Bulgari clutch, a silver belt and ruby drop earrings.
If you could pick one look from this premiere to go into the BDOTW poll, who would you choose?
Alessandra or Penelope?

How to Achieve the Classic Blowout

I like them both, but it was so refreshing to see Penelope in something other than black. She just oozed glamour and sophistication.
Alessandra for me. So fresh and beautiful. Love it!
+1
I kinda love this, but don’t think I’m meant to! And Florence would look INCRED in it!!
This is easily get my vote, the dress itself is gorgeous, plus her make-up are flawless.
Penelope had that little something. Maybe the glamor. I’d go for her in the BDOTW poll
I’d go for Penelope as well, because of her presence. Alessandra feels a bit granny-chic here.
Definitely this one!
Definitely Alessandra. She looks so elegant and fresh………..
Alessandra FTW! We’ve seen Penelope’s look a 1000 times on JLO. Alessandra’s styling is way better – her clutch & dress were made for each other! – plus I don’t like Cruz’ hair & makeup at all.
I’d go with Alessandra because her dress is more original and she’s really pretty.
I Much prefer Penelope’s look .
Not a fan of this look (actually not a fan of this Valentino collection, too ‘little house on the prairie’), but I enjoy when you occasionally feature Italian celebrities! Alessandra is lovely!
Really? This washes her out.. I take Rosie over either, TBH
It looks better on the model… maybe it’s the lenght of the dress : too long on Alessandra and it’s almost like she’s too pale for the dress… I don’t like the clutch either.
Overall it’s refreshing but not a wow.
ALESSANDRA.
Why? Because THIS is how you wear Valentino.
How many times have we seen a Dolce & Gabbana lace dress?
+10000
Definitely Alessandra!
PENELOPE. to me, this dress and the presentation reek of Little House on the Prairie.
“Little House on the Prairie” indeed. Penelope for me as well, more polished and put together.
I would’ve picked Alessandra if her make-up wouldn’t be so bad. I don’t like it at all. As for the dress, it looks great on her and the length is so much better than on the model. But altough I agree with Riley that we’ve seen a Dolce&Gabbana lace dress several times on the RC, I still have to go with Penelope. She made me forgive her photocall disaster with this dress.
penelope hands down. the colors were perfection.
this outfit looks like she is a co-star in Keira Knightley’s most recent release ‘A Dangerous Method’… I think the look is dated, funky pink and black detailing notwithstanding. she is also too pale for this dress. the purse is all wrong, just like her hair. with this dress one would need a tall tan blonde holding a small black clutch and oozing the relevant attitude (think Diane Krueger on her good day or Gwyneth Paltrow; btw this could work on Naomi Campbell as well)
The dress itself is beautiful, but the style is terrible, she looks old and the hairstyle is so ugly…
OMG, don’t make me choose because I love both! This look is so very 1910, I can’t help but picture MIchelle Dockery in it. But anyway, Alessandra looks pretty great in it.
Well, if I really have to choose, I guess I’d go with Penelope, ’cause I don’t like Alessandra’s makeup, too much blush for my liking. And the clutch is not that great of an option. I still think she looks very beautiful, but Penelope has my vote.
I prefer Penelope’s look to this look. Although I’m not a fan of the hairstyle, I think Penelope looked stunning in that Dolce & Gabbana gown.
Love this Valentino 70s inspired collection. (Just keep any Olsen away from it).
this look, for sure!!! the dress itself wins by a long mile.
