Ruth Wilson In McQ Alexander McQueen – The Olivier Awards 2012

Last night at the Royal Opera House in London, Ruth Wilson collected the Best Actress Award for her role in ‘Anna Christie’ at The Olivier Awards 2012, which recognises excellence in professional theatre.

My wish list for the McQ Alexander McQueen Fall 2012 collection had been a list of Hollywood stars, but it was a Brit (and rightly so) who snagged the first look.

Her layered tulle bustier dress with full skirt black floral velvet appliqués was teamed with an Alexander McQueen clutch, a black McQ cuff and black Alexander McQueen Mary Jane pumps from the Pre-Fall collection.

A side-swept hairstyle and pink lip colour completed her look.

J’adore! I am not familiar with Ruth, but she looks absolutely stunning. Love the hair and make up too.

She is an aamazing actress. Check out Luther!

I love this dress on her. She looks great :) I could do without the boring shoes but that’s just a tiny flaw.

For some reason I would rather see dakota fanning in this, it maybe due to the model but i think the dress isn’t done justice by the shoes and hair selected.

I don’t get the hair reference. Just because the model is blond? Dakota would kill the buzz with her ever-so-boring loose, straigh hair.

I do admit I don’t like the shoes, though.

I love this! Both regal and contemporary. I think it’s the attitude that is really selling it to me.

Great way of putting it! Love the dress. The model’s hair was really hard to get past but she looks great. Reminds me of Emma Stone’s SAG dress.

Love the dress! It looks beautiful on her. However, I strongly dislike the shoes and hair. Too bad this gorgous dress wasn’t worn by someone who was going to do it justice.

Deja vu. Reminds me of the black Alexander McQueen worn by Emma Stone during awards season. The silhouette is beautiful on both women.

This kind of dress needs a ‘tough’ shoes. just because it’s black doesn’t mean we hate the shoes, right. Perfect shoes to compliment this dress.
So, this is my BDOTW, imo.

I love her in the dress but her cuff, clutch and shoes aren’t working for me, but the hair and makeup are fine.

The dress looks amazing on her, especially because of her great posture. Her hair also looks pretty good. But I wish she had kept the belt and wore a more dramatic lipstick.

And I agree that it does resemble Emma’s dress a lot.

Not only the dress is stunning, but the make-up as well. Frankly, I always found her slightly odd looking, here she’s simply gorgeous.

Breathtaking from the ankles up. I’m also quite in love with the sheer detail on the shoulders and arms on the runway.
