Here are a few words I never thought I would hear myself say: Anna Wintour in Versace.
The American Vogue editor-in-chief with a love for all things Prada, Chanel and Marni donned a look from the Versace Fall 2012 collection whilst stepping out to the ‘Evita’ opening night at the Marquis Theater in New York City.
Correct me if I’m wrong, but I believe this is a Versace first. Well, at least in my blogging lifetime.
If it weren’t for her trademark Manolos, sunglasses and bob, I don’t think I would’ve believed that Wintour was wearing Versace.
Her cross macramé long-sleeve sheath dress with a high neckline was accented with a beaded necklace.
This was really a night for firsts, because I can’t recall ever seeing Anna carrying a clutch either. She usually makes do with just her Blackberry.
Is Anna revamping her style?
We will have to wait and see.

How to Achieve the Classic Blowout

ah, she did wore a Versace dress many many years ago.
I will have to go in search for it now.
The first thing I’ve said when I saw the post’s title was : “WOW! Anna Wintour in Versace???”.
Although she’s wearing Versace, there’s nothing we haven’t seen before from her. She’s as elegant and polished as always.
love this look on her
Finally something new
she looks fantastic.
The shoes are hideous. And the facelift is reaaally falling apart at the seams!
Yes she always wears old lady with bunions looking shoes Manolos or no Manolos…
Cool, Very cool
Wake me up when she changes her hair.
Haha
Shes had this hairstyle for years so I dont think she plans on changing it any time soon
+1. I’ll never get over how horrible this bob is. It ruins every look. Not that I like much what she wears, anyway…
It’s not the first time she wears Versace but it will be very complicated to find a moment where she wear Versace because she’s not wearing the most “VERSACE” pieces.
It’s such a great look and very sophisticated. What i like about Anna is that she makes everything she put into her own.
You have to go to GETTY or other website like that. You’ll see Anna in Prada, Chanel (of course), Dior, YSL by Tom Ford and all that stuff. And in the early 90′s, she was such a risk taking. It’s so confusing.
but shes still wearing her good ol’ manolos!
I love this look on her. I do love ehr normal thing anyway, except for her repetitive shoe choice, but this is a breath of fresh air.
Somethign about the whoel look reminds me of Chritsine Baranski, which is always a good thing.
I like it, very much, form head to ankles. Those shoes are so ugly…
She looks fine but even though it’s Versace it doesn’t feel very different from usual. That’s not to say this isn’t a good look, it just doesn’t feel very new to me.
+1,she looks the same as always to me,together with the horrible shoes
Is it just me or does Anna look sexy? I mean, the dress fits perfectly in a sexy way, not the usual Anna Wintour way. The skirt of the dress might have been made into a pencil skirt for a lean silhouette, but I am getting a little va va boom from La Wintour.
But no, I don’t think a style change is going to happen more than this. She is dipping her toe in the water but she’s not going to go in.
Here’s a pic of younger Anna Wintour in Versace (Gianni era). She looked amazing.

OMG…I love it
WOW she looks amazing in that pic!
Wow! That’s awesome…..
If there is one thing that is certain about Anna Wintour is that she loves a patterned black and white dress – I can recall at least 10 of these over the last 3 / 4 years from Chanel (Costume Institute Gala and another that she wore once to a Dolce & Gabbana party in Milan), Tom Ford (from his first collection) Carolina Herrera (to the David Letterman show and another to the CFDAs), Oscar de la Renta (at least three of them including one polka dot, one sleeveless that she wore to his show), Prada ( two of those) and many more – I guess this is what attracted her to this dress
And if it were sleeveless, she’d have a cardigan.
Like the dress but don’t understand her obsession for those shoes. They just don’t go with the dress
Double wow – I love this, this for sharing it!
