Rihanna may have been wearing Stella McCartney almost exclusively the last few weeks, but it’s Charlize Theron who got first dibs on the designers Fall 2012 collection.
The South African beauty was in France today for the ‘Prometheus’ Paris premiere, held at the Cinema Gaumont Marignan.
It’s a strange time to hold a premiere for a movie before lunch time, but on a slow news day this look is very much welcome.
Charlize’s dress is slightly different from the dress which took to the runway.
The runway version has a flared skirt and the embossed, textured jacquard is on the bodice and sleeves rather than the skirt.
Charlize made the right choice picking this dress as her version is more suited to her style. I can picture the runway version on someone like Dakota Fanning.
Whilst I love dress and the electric blue colour, I can’t get on board with the black wedges.
Why have such lovely long legs if you’re going to stump them with these wedges?

Why the black wedges? Seems like an odd choice to pair it with this dress.
It was not really a premiere in the sense that it was only for French critics/journalists. The event was followed by a photocall but the general public won’t see it until much later – 30th of May in France, the 1st of June in the UK with an actual Premiere on the 31st
And I love the look especially the detail. She is one of the celebrity who, if she modifies a dress, the modification are always better!
Beautiful dress, but … what did she think when she picked those wedges?
Agree FC. Like the modifications on the dress and how it looks and fits. The shoes look like hoofs.
HORRIBLE!
I would have loved to see someone like Kirsten Dunst in the original version. It just seems much more fun. Charlize’s looks kinda like a pencil skirt with a lycra top. She still looks beautiful though.
I feel the same way. The original is too short but other than that I like it better than Charlize’s. The shoes were a bad choice too.
Her modified dress looks amazing on her even better than the one on the model
Horrendous. The shoes are awful. Can’t believe her stylist allowed this.
beautiful but wrong shoes
But her legs are so long and graceful she can actually pull off those shoes without looking stumpy. Love the electric blue cover on the red carpet. You all were upset about her recent black trend. lol.
God, that’s one divine dress!
She looks so good in blue and with her hair pulled up in a ponytail. I actually really like this outfit. The shoes don’t bother me muvh.
Lovely from ankles up.
+1
and could’ve been a BDOTW-contender. Can’t believe she wore that shoes.
Totally wrong shoes and the dress is ok but far below her usual chic standard. meh.
i adore charlize theron!
I love her,and she is always beautiful, but her choices lately are pretty boring to me,and this one is too, even with that greta coloure it’s still sort of blah.wrong shoes,I like wedges very much, but not here.
I don’t get the shoes either! But the dress is absolutely stunning!
The shoes should be left for the street, not the red carpet. But if anyone is to wear them and still looks good, it’s the leggy girls like Charlize. She looked beautiful and the color of the dress is stunning.
