Emily Blunt and I share a love for sequins and Lebanese designers, so the chance of me loving what she wears is usually high.
Unfortunately that wasn’t the case on the red carpet tonight for the London premiere of her new movie, ‘Salmon Fishing in the Yemen’.
She wore a nice enough Carolina Herrera Fall 2012 dress, but the overall look feels too mature for the 29-year-old British actress.
Her navy, black and indigo embroidered grosgrain dress was teamed with Tiffany & Co silver jewels and black satin Christian Louboutin peep-toes.
Naturally straight tresses, Kohl-rimmed eyes and a nude pink lip colour completed her look.

Who Was Your Best Dressed At The amfAR Cinema Against AIDS Gala?

Love it!
me too!
I am shocked that she is not even 30 yet. I seriously thought she was 35/36. But she always is so appropriately dressed, Kate Beckinsale would have shown up in a mermaid ballgown.
She’s 29? I really thought she was in her late thirties by the way she always dresses. I’m not kidding when I say that I am seriously shocked.
Anyway, I do agree that this is aging but I really like the dress. Boring accessories but I’m not mad at her for it.
+1 word for word.
Nice dress, boring accessories and an aging gesture on her face.
I love the dress–I just think the eye makeup is too heavy.
So uninspired and aging! I always thought she was late 30s not late 20s by the way her stylist dresses her!!! So many actresses in their early 40s wear more (tasteful) sexy and youthful looks that she does!
I love the dress on Emily and the hair works for me with the dress, but the accessories needed to be more youthful, like 5 inch thin heeled Jimnmy Choo strappy sandals and a small Judith Leiber silver clutch. Msybe if the dress were modified to fall right below her knees. It was forgettable on the runway but looks amazing despite the length on EmiBlu. I am with Kim- I thought she was like 31 or 33 tops.
Dress is okay, but I think the hair and the makeup really brought her look up another notch.
Wow! I’ll have to disagree on this one… I really like this dress on her! I usually think she dresses too old for her age and find that she often doesn’t make her beauty justice with boring dresses. In this case, I think she looks sexy and beautiful!
I actually loved it. And I was looking closer at some bigger pictures and oh my, her hair, makeup and earrings are just truly to-die-for. Maybe it’s a little to soon to say this but I could quite consider it a BDOTW contender.
I’m not a huge fan of the dress but Emily pulls it off nicely. It’s understated but elegant, and I don’t have any trouble believing that she’s 29.
I think its something I would like to see Christina Hendricks in
Very matronly dress, and paired with the shoes just seem “old”. I hate that fringe/lace/whatever at the hem.
I agree that the dress wasn’t a great choice. She’s young and has a great figure, and this dress just doesn’t do her any favours. I think it’s mainly the length that I don’t like.
Love these posts, though!
It’s hard to believe she’s only 29.
With all the summery looks we’ve seen, this feels a little too dark.
she looks really good. love the colours on her
she is probably serious as a person her self, mature.I thought she was older then 29 as well. But even so I like her style, she is always elegant and polished looking, like this one.
+ 1
I think she looks pretty good
I like it. It’s mummy-chic.
I think she looks fantastic, and the confident pose suggests she agrees.
