Brooklyn Decker In J. Mendel – ‘Battleship’ Sydney Premiere

Brooklyn Decker was at Luna Park in Sydney, Australia with Rihanna earlier today, for the ‘Battleship’ premiere.

The blonde beauty wore a J. Mendel Fall 2012 gown, which was in total contrast to Rihanna’s more masculine look.

Brooklyn has had an amazing run during this promo tour, but it came to a screeching halt today.

There is nothing like about this gown. I didn’t like on the runway and I like it even less on Brooklyn with those modifications.

What bugs me the most are the gold lame sleeves. They seem totally out of whack with the rest of the gown.

Black sleeves, white sleeves or no sleeves at all would’ve been preferable.

Battleship hits Australian cinemas on April 12.

If the sleeves weren’t so wrinkled I’d love it.

minus the sleeves and it would be perfect

The gold sleeves do cheapen it, as there is just too much gold lame. If they were cap sleeves I would like it much better. It’s not my favorite dress but I like how she lined it and if it were not for the sleeves and the low neckline I think it would be elegant.

I just adore it. Gorgeous, the sleeves are better on the model, though.

I prefer the runway version but oh my ! the gold sleeves are ruining the look. Hats off to Brook for daring a different style.

Yuck. That gold looks much better when used for minimal contouring, aka Taylor Swift’s ACMA dress, which was also J. Mendel.

I actually really like this look! The gold sleeves may look a bit odd, but still, I thinks she looks fantastic!

It’s ok but I am not liking the gold sleeves.

I don’t care for it either way. The black lining mystifies. Something costumey about it and the gold lame sleeves cheapen it further.

I find the sleeves inexplicable. It’s like they belong to a different dress. this could have been really classy without them.

I kind of like this. XP

those golden sleeves make the dress look really heavy

I prefer the runway version of this dress. And I agree that the sleeves look bad on Brooklyn but I’ve seen worse on the red carpet therefore this is not so bad. I like the hair and the make-up.

I don’t like the black panels at the upper-body part of the dress.

    • dee April 10, 2012 at 16:47 #

I don’t like the panels either but I do like the gold sleeves.

Oh, but I love it! I find it to be a modern twist on an 80s glam look.

    • Anna April 10, 2012 at 15:07 #

I actually love it, as well. 🙂 And I prefer it lined, the way Brooklyn wore it.

  18. bm April 10, 2012 at 14:59 #

Agree, the sleeves make this look so cheap.

I agree FC. Even my Brooklyn Love can’t make me like this gown. It’s just ugly.

I hope your easter was happy and full of peeps! Everyone deserves a break!
