Who Wore Mary Katrantzou Better? Cameron Silver or Henry Holland

Cameron Silver, owner of vintage emporium Decades Inc., wore a colourful floral Mary Katrantzou suit, inspired by her Spring 2012 womenswear collection, whilst attending the LAXART Ball Of Artists Event in Beverly Hills, California, back in January.

He wore his custom-made suit with an Alexis Mabille peacock-feathered butterfly bow tie and Christian Louboutin ‘Havana Trash’ shoes.

On Monday, designer Henry Holland posted a picture on his Vogue blog wearing the same suit.

He opted for a black shirt to Cameron’s white, which works equally well.

I like that Cameron wasn’t afraid to go a few steps further with this look with his bow tie and shoes, so he wins for me.

This is epic and probably first time in RCFA history? Two men in women wear competing for best dressed.

yes, this is the first time :)

neither both look an absolute mess.

That suit is painful on both, but if I had to choose which was least bad, I’d go with Henry for the shoes and black shirt and glasses.

      Those are socks, actually

This is fashion at its most horrid…Can you really wear this things in public…sometimes you have to wonder what goes through a designers mind or should i say the purchaser. Its just not good, male or female.

    • Fashion Critic March 28, 2012 at 13:40 #

That’s a very strong reaction…I have to say I love it

Me too FC. Fashion can be boring at times (especially with how celebs style it) but this is something different and i’m glad the guys thought to look past who this was aimed for and wear something different. How many designers out there wear the same thing day in and day out (lagerfeld, lauren etc i’m talking to you!)

Also should mention. I prefer this suit on a male compared to the model. It works 100% for me – Henry styled it better though.

Agree with boncheidt, this look is just awful, man or woman.

    Voted for Henry!
I feel that the print of Camerons shoes clashes with the print of the suit

Nobody and that includes the model too. This suit is ugly.

  7. EmmaWoodhouse March 28, 2012 at 14:11 #

Three-way loss imo. I really disliked this suit–but especially on a guy.

  8. Jones19 March 28, 2012 at 14:37 #

Henry looks better IMO. Cam went overboard with the accessories, my eye doesn’t know where to look.

Both look like colourful clowns in womenswear but if I had to choose I’d have to go with Henry. Cameron took a few steps further into a clownish territory.

Holland made the better choice. He stuck with basic black as non-distracting background for the colorful suit. I love the vivid colors and the lines created in the print.

Yikes. I think both are atrocious. I’ll take “boring” and classy over tacky “look at me!” any day.

  12. Dhppy March 29, 2012 at 19:09 #

This suit is a crime against fashion… which is necessary sometimes. Half of me thinks “must we?” and the other half thinks, “yes, we must”.

    Why or why?
