This WWIB post spans five years and seven celebs proving that an Alexander McQueen piece is truly timeless.

Sienna Miller was the first to wear this Alexander McQueen Spring 2008 draped dress back in October 2007 at the premiere of her film ‘Interview,’ during the BFI 51st London Film Festival.

As Sienna is known for her signature grungy look, I like how simple she keeps it here, with just a loose up-do and black pumps.

Simple was certainly not on Lucy Liu’s mind, however, as she wore the same dress in hot pink to a January 2008 taping of ‘The Late Show with David Letterman’ in New York City. The hot pink plus leather gloves and pointy toes shoes is just too much.

Just a month later, Katie Holmes wore the same dress in houndstooth at the First Annual Essence Black Women In Hollywood Luncheon in LA. Sporting a shag bob the actress paired her dress with eggplant peep-toes and an Alexander McQueen skull clutch.

Resident bombshell Amber Heard tried out the hot pink number at the ‘Never Back Down’ Hollywood premiere in March 2008. Her shoes let her down.

Socialite Tinsley Mortimer posed backstage at a February 2009 Max Azria fashion show, pairing her dress with black accessories, including a Chanel purse.

Actress Leelee Sobieski took the dress in a more unique route at the May 2011 MoMA & MoMA PS1 Celebratory dinner, by pairing the dress with a unique pair of black-and-white woven ankle boots.

Kate Beckinsale supported Eva Longoria’s foundation party in LA last month accessorizing with simple black peep-toes and a high pony.

Who do you think wore it best?

It’s a tough call with so many beautiful ladies and options to choose from, but I think I’d go with Katie Holmes, because I love the print and 2008 was such a chic year for her.
