Rose McGowan was in Vienna, Austria, this weekend to take in the glitz and glamour of the annual Orange Filmball which celebrates entertainment, dance and song in honour of the Austrian film industry.
The actress wore a Donna Karan Pre-Fall 2012 strapless black-and-white gown for the occasion.
Her gown provided the perfect modern princess-like look for this grand ball.
Elizabeth Cole earrings added some sparkle while side-swept locks and a bright pink lip colour completed her look.

I like this gown, I poofy without being overwhelming.
I do wish it sat higher across the bust.
+1
+1 The dress is definitely sitting a bit low.
+1 I agree! I prefer it on the runway as it is more strikingly dramatic.
I agree that it’s sitting too low. You lose the dramatic effect of the black sweep, which is why some people are finding there’s too much white. Compare the runway version to Rose’s dress, there’s less black ’cause the dress is about at least 4″ lower. Still a beautiful dress and looks lovely on her, just not as dramatic.
+1 I totally agree with you. She still looks beautiful but I do wish that the fit across the bust was more likely higher like on the model.
Agree with all these comments–takes a dramatic and elegant dress and makes it all about the boobs. It destroys the proportions of the dress. What a shame.
Almost a problematic “nip slip” .. but dress is lovely otherwise.
It’s stunning on Rose. Much prefer it on her than the runway with the lower bodice and a couple more curves.

This dress is a whole new story on Rose.
I’m finding the white bottom part of the dress being more than should. Making it look like two different unequal pieces put together

Oh I love Rose wearing the dress by Donna Karan! It is such perfect with its white/black contrast. Wonderful dress! My result as look-scout: winner outfit
Love it.. perfect description.. it is indeed a modern take on the princess dress!
I am so distracted by her face… I just can’t…
But the dress is fun
As soon as I saw the picture, a “WOW” escaped naturally from my mouth, I’m just so Wowed by Rose…
I very much like the idea of this dress however it pains me to say, as Rose often knocks it out of the park, that the tailoring is a disaster. There is way too much volume on the bottom and the bust needs much more coverage/support. Much prefer the runway look/fit.
I disagree completely BOBO! The volume is what’s so great, this is a BALL in VIENNA, never is there a more appropriate excuse to wear something big and dramatic. And if my decolletage still looks that amazing when I’m her age (I mean does this woman ever age??) I will be showing them off too! To me the tailoring looks perfect as it is snug and tailored around her waist, hops, and the rest of her torso, so I don’t really think “tailoring disaster” makes any sense. She knocked it way out of the park with this one, as she usually does. BDOTW for sure!!
and “modern princess” is the perfect way to describe this look, I second that!
Sorry, I really dislike this gown. It feels a cheap dress designed for a soap opera/hallmark movie scene.
I definitely prefer the runway cut though to be fair I am not a huge fan of this dress anyway – I think I like more the idea of this dress (shout out to Bobo) than its reality
The bust is throwing me off along with the white bottom. I want to like it but something is throwing me off about this dress.
Other than the bust* It looks a bit cheap.
Stunning!
The boobage is def. a bit too much, and the hair without a doubt should’ve been pulled up into a pretty ‘do for this grand ball look with the major statement earrings.
Omg this gown is perfection on Rose. Love !!
It’s really a beautiful gown. Could be stunning but she doesn’t have the elegance to bring it to life.
I love this dress on the runway, and wish Rose had either worn a size bigger or had this one tailored. It’s just too tight from the top to the hips and changes the whole look of the dress. A shame.
Love the dress and she looks beautiful in it, but it is sitting too low on her bust.
Love the dress on her not the model.
The dress is lovely, but the fit is very wrong. The neckline is too low and the waist detail and skirt shape looks funny. SHe did look great as a whole though!
she looks amazing but I would like to see it sitting a bit higher! gorgeous dress
