After the Oscars it was a very quiet week, so I picked the top two from the Independent Spirit Awards, The Oscars and the Oscar parties for the BDOTW poll.
Thanks for all your amazing comments this week.

everyone!
… so hard to choose!
The week the white dresses ruled them all! Thank goodness Tom Ford has gone back to the sleek aesthetic; his last couple collections look like a boudoir exploded in a fabric shop.
This was an easy choice. Gwyneth of course, she looked divine.
They all look sensational.
For the Oscar’s Parties it has to be Emma!
The Oscar for best dressed goes to Gwyneth of course but I’m SO in love with Zoe’s Balmain that I couldn’t help but choose it!
Are you serious?! You can’t do this, I’ll never be able to just vote for one of them!
It sure has been a great week, THANK YOU for all your hard work!
Thank you for all your comments x
It’s gotta be Gwyneth. She’s the only one who took a risk at the Oscars this year. Fashion moment of the award season.
I think it was a very good week – we saw so many beautiful looks – Gwyneth wins of course for me but that Emma dress is still exquisite I wish she had worn it for the ceremony – overall Emma had a fantastic run and it’s too bad for that Valli misstep – I think we had a very good awards season really top notch with so many new faces – I only wish there were a bit more risks taken on the red carpet (we practically saw zero really bad dresses at the oscars an indication that maybe most played it too safe) – I wonder if someone will manage to top that Ford look on Gwyneth this year one can only hope for a return to form from Blanchett (or Kidman i.e. the one circa 2004) – still great coverage of the awards season FC – really top notch – well done and thank you!
It was rather safe. More risks were taken at the party.
Thanks for your comment
Whoa, I think this may be the first week since I’ve become addicted to this site where none of the candidates for BDOTW are worthy in my opinion. I much preferred Emma Stone’s Oscar red carpet dress and as much as I like Paltrow’s Tom Ford ensemble, I thought she looked far better on the red carpet than presenting sans cape (so maybe the cape is the winner? Lol). Katie Holmes dress is beautiful but I much preferred Emma Watson’s shortened version of it. I’m writing in Jessica Chastain!
Thank you for all your extensive Oscar red carpet coverage this past week, FC!!
My pleasure x
I really loved all of these looks, it is so hard to choose. I originally voted for Gwyneth as BD at the Oscars but I am seeing Mila in a new light it seems and she is even more exquisite. But I think Gwyneth still wins, her look is flawless and very fashion forward!
Thanks again for your amazing coverage in recent weeks FC, with awards season and fashion weeks, I think you need a well deserved holiday
xox
Yes…I’m going to have one very soon
Milla was my choice, but Gwyneth and Katie looked divine as well.
Not the best week…
Easy…. Gwen!!!! Followed by Kate and Emma.
Dont understand the “best dressed” of Milla. This blog tends to (mostly) love any Elie Saab piece that hits the carpet whether they all look the same or not. Same with Fing Bing Bing fever, etc.
But that’s off topic (kinda). Kudos to Gwyenth on a VERY very memorable Oscar moment. We will always remember.
Your comment is incredibly insulting
I have gone as far as explaining that the TOP 2 from each of the individual poll,
http://www.redcarpet-fashionawards.com/2012/02/27/who-was-your-best-dressed-at-the-2012-oscars/ see here, were picked.
It has NOTHING to do with my personal love for Elie Saab.
Please stop with the sly personal jabs.
FC, I don’t think this is an insulting comment directed toward you but a comment just noticing the favoring from readers on this particular blog vs any other blog.
Don’t think this was geared at you FC but at the RCFA readers in general that seem to overly favor Elie Saab and ‘Fan Fever’ as R. describes. I don’t see this as a jab but just as a realistic observation and didn’t see any personal attack written in here.
Hmm what? 6 nominees in an oscars week? 2 from the oscars? Am done looking forward to the oscars voting. Film festivals have just become my top red carpet event
regardless of this particular poll, film festivals are the best
they are where we get to see sonam kapoor, aishwarya rai, diane kruger and many more people wear the most amazing couture EVERY DAY
they are like awards season and the met gala and the art of elysium gala x20
Zoe for me! I don’t see what all the fuss is about with Gwyneth…The dress was nice, cape not so much, the hair/make-up could have improved this look a lot for me.
Couldn´t get on board with Gwyneth´s look either, not only it´s not good enough for such a major event as the Oscars, in my opinion, but it´s plain bizarre and unappealing with that cape and esp. hair and makeup.
i don’t like it either! if you wanna go glamorous with a cape do it all the way, this hair is unforgivable!
Kate Beckinsale.
Thank you for all your hard work, FC!
The disappointing Oscars left this poll without any spectacular truly impressive Oscar-drama-worthy looks unfortunately. Milla gets my vote by default.
Gwyneth Paltrow in Tom Ford
Gwyneth took my breath away. Almost everyone else looked either overwrought, particularly by comparison. A Goddess moment.
I can’t really get on board with Gwyneth’s look because of two things: I wish her ponytail was tighter and I am having a terrible déja vu moment. I’ve been looking throughout the site for a suit that had the same cape effect (even though I think it had sleeves), but I can’t find anything because I thought it was Iman who wore it—apparently not! I just remember she was at an airport and she might have worn a turban. That look was perfection.
Gwyneth still reigns supreme in the poll, though. The Golden Globes were far more interesting.

I think this is the one.
My God—yes!
Now THAT’s how you wear a cape.
Thank you for the link, Alina!
i agree completely
You’re welcome! I loved that look.
