Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana were inspired by Sicilian artwork for Fall 2012 as models took to the runway in cherub tapestry prints and baroque on sleek, sexy silhouettes.
The presentation started with models stepping out of a gold-leafed Baroque picture frame wearing black pieces adorned with gold lace, gold trims and/or gold embroidery before moving onto white frilly blouses, bloomers, skirts and dresses with plenty of frou frou.
The high-on-glamour, bejewelled presentation also served up ladylike Sunday best dresses, ruffled blouses, signature corsets, skirt suits, sheer dresses, cape dresses and pencil skirts plus a section of beautiful floral embroidered pieces.
Key accessories included the Miss Sicily bag in several guises, bejewelled headbands, plenty of gold jewelry, pearl accented bags, knee-high socks, statement necklaces, ankle boots, and wood carven heels in pastel blue and vanilla.
This collection will not only be a huge hit on the red carpet, but those cherub tapestry prints will no doubt appear in a lot of editorials.

I reckon that floral skirt and the skirt from look 65 would look good on you! I quite like this collection
I love it, it feels decadent and interesting
It looks very beautiful but I can’t picture a lot of women wearing these dresses. You need to have a perfect body for them. But the dresses would look stunning in fashion spreads and covers.
Although it’s always fun to see their collections, they often feel inaccessible to me. The cherub print and Baroque bustier looks just feel too over the top.
Sorry if I’m wrong, but I thoughtj Bianca Balti wasn’t at front row, but was walking in the runway , opening the show…
