Diane Kruger In Chanel Couture – Chanel and Charles Finch Pre-Oscar Dinner

Prior to attending the Vanity Fair Oscar Party on Sunday, Diane Kruger took to the red carpet for Chanel’s annual Pre-Oscar dinner party co-hosted by Charles Finch to celebrate an evening of fashion and film at Madeo in Beverly Hills, California on Saturday evening.

The German actress wore a Chanel Fall 2011 Couture dress.

Her black strapless dress with a feather-accented peplum and three white stars on the bodice was teamed with Ferragamo black satin ankle-strap pumps and a silver box clutch.

As you can see the dress has has a total overhaul from the look presented on the runway.

We should not be surprised as Diane has a habit of making runway pieces her own.

Side sweeping ponytail and flawless makeup completed her look.

Now, this is a Diane Kruger look I really like! I much prefer it to her latest outfits.

I love Diane’s style but for me she has taken away everything that was interesting about this dress and turned it into another sleeveless mini dress.

This was one of my favorite looks from the collection. This is upsetting. She gave it the slut cut.

+1 She took all the personality out of the look. From edgy to, as it was said before, 80’s prom.

I think she pulls this off, but I kind of wonder why she bothered. There are so many spectacular dresses out there, why put all that effort into this one, especially if you are going to remove those spectacular sleeves.

She looks divine as always – chic, modern and without looking like she tried too hard. FC, I’m curious: when we see celebrities wearing pieces that are different from the runway look, are those changes made upon request by the designer or do the celebrities take all those couture pieces and then get them changed?

It could be a change…As Cameron pink Chanel was redesigned.

Or it could be that the dress was part of the collection based on the original but was never presented

I adore this. On anyoen else I don’t think that I would ahve liked this dress, but she has a way of wearing chanel so well so I absolutely do.
The pose and everything reminds me so much of the pink chanel couture that she wore last year around the same time which I adored.

Very nice but the shoes are too heavy. I prefer the Vanity Fair party look.

    • Anj February 29, 2012 at 17:15 #

Totally agree. Only it costs more than what they sell it for at Salvation Army.
